Primary Purpose:

This role is responsible for indirect auto sales activity within a designated territory. This individual will partner with all levels of management within their territory to define and execute standardized sales and marketing practices. Develops and maintains profitable, quality indirect lending relationship with auto dealers within a market. Products offered as a part of a moderate to large portfolio to include auto loans. Responsible for consultative business practices with all dealerships to promote a mutually beneficial relationship while keeping all customers informed of any up-to-date services, products and programs. Responsible for establishing profitable relationships, improving current dealer relationships, and terminating non-performing dealers. Builds business by identifying new opportunities and demonstrating value to customers, which requires a thorough knowledge of bank and competitor products. Monitors competition and makes suggestions for product improvements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Promotes the growth and prosperity of the Bank by professionally serving the needs of dealer and end-customers.

  • Maintain effective communication with dealers and appropriate internal partners.

  • Develop business plans that align with corporate goals and objectives.

  • Analyst dealer-specific data using applicable resources and take appropriate action.

  • Identify and resolve dealer issues presentive excessive risk to GM Financial, i.e., portfolio issues, fraud, buy-back, dealer agreement violations, dealer personnel, etc.

  • Responsible for growth and development of indirect auto loans.

  • Takes a high visibility, leadership role in the community served. Establishes and develops strong community relations in the region, by becoming involved in civic, charitable and community affairs.

  • Develops and coordinates strategies to assure business plan achievement for the region.

  • Meets regularly with the Director to advise and discuss business plan achievement for the region.

  • Ensures the bank underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and operational policies are implemented and followed.

  • Familiarity with all federal and state banking regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance, including fair lending laws.

  • Knowledge of auto lending practices, policies and procedures.

  • Working knowledge of policies and procedures of the business development, operations, and collection departments.

  • Adheres to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Four-year degree in business related field or combination of experience and education.

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in indirect auto finance or related automotive field.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc), with good understanding of financial institution systems, products and services.

  • Must be bondable.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clear motor vehicle record.

  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed, occasionally overnight.

  • Demonstrated relationship management skills and the ability to make connections to the greater strategy while collaborating with multiples business partners and senior leaders.

  • Excellent marketing, sales and relationship management skills.

  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient computer usage to utilize credit-processing system, and to receive-transmit written communications with internal or external contacts.

  • Ability to understand, and use Bank policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively one-on-one and in small group meetings or presentations.

  • Ability to understand and/or convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately and quickly, if necessary.

  • Ability to think and act independently within guidelines and limitations of Bank policy and assigned personal authority.

  • Presents a professional, business-like manner and appearance.

  • Sales and service aptitude and ability. Earns quick credibility.

  • Must be service oriented and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong track record of identifying and then leveraging highly targeted and comprehensive market research leading to customer and share growth.

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with well-developed knowledge of working across multiple groups, divisions and sales and service channels.

Physical Requirements:

  • Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally.

  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time.

  • Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation.

  • Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
