Our Shared Services Group is looking for a Corporate Indirect purchasing Country Manager. This position will be based in Auburn Hills, Mi. The role of an IdP Country Manager is to manage and monitor all supplier issues in line with Group IdP Purchasing Strategy to improve Quality Cost and Delivery (QCD) performance, and to contribute to or to lead productivity actions. The IdP Country Manager will also lead and support the development of a team of buyers (Segment and Regional/Project Buyers) within the country or countries he/she is responsible for, with the following main missions :
The main missions of the role are:
Internal customer network :
Develop a network with the internal customers of the country to explain the IdP strategy, identify new and potential improvements to integrate into the IdP segments (commodity) strategies that will facilitate the realization of the Groups segment projects.
Interact at all levels of the organization with capabilities to develop detailed presentations to Management in order to get understanding, agreement and support on IdP Group initiatives and strategy.
Contribute to the P&L results through both commodity actions and regional actions.
Lead or contribute to productivity and cost saving actions :
Direct and manage the actions of IdP Operations (regional/project) buyers and Segment buyers to work closely with Plant Managers and the Plants department's managers to identify and run saving actions beyond price negotiation
Lead productivity action plan involving suppliers.
Lead Value Management projects in the region, by driving benchmarking and best practices efforts at the plants in an effort to identify, implement, and contribute to cost savings at a plant, regional, national, and global level.
Assists the IdP Director in the development and training of departmental personnel to work in a team based, continuous improvement environment.
Implement cost reduction actions through a competitive benchmarking of detailed cost elements.
Development of sourcing strategies which results in a supply base optimization.
Supplier meeting and supplier visits to expand personal expertise and management of the supplier as required.
Be part of the IdP Segments (commodity) projects :
Participate in the projects and competitive bids led by IdP's global Commodity team. Integrate the needs of the region. Contribute to data collection, specifications, and evaluation of the results.
Manage the implementation of thecorporate contracts in the Region.
Works with Global, Regional Segment and Operational (regional / project) Buyers in sourcing strategy to establish a global supplier network for new business.
Support the team to work with and coordinate activities with counterparts in other regions to support global quoting and projects.
Optimize purchases portfolio not covered by Segment (Commodity) contracts or projects in progress :
To provide guidance to the IdP Buyers on the consolidation of recurrent local needs, management of competitive bids, reduction of supplier base and its management through consistent contracts
To provide guidance to the IdP Buyers on the local high-value one-shot needs, projects, negotiation and contracts.
Ensure follow-up of contract application and regular audit of contract compliance.
Assist in the management of the administrative purchase order process with IdP Procurement team :
Support the management of the KPI's and all related procurement activities performed by IdP buyers or by the BPO (IdP Business Process Outsourcing) provider.
Apply the methodology and tools defined and implemented by IdP, such as :
To track project management and associated reporting process
Contract database to store and manage all contracts
Proper application of SAP-SRM Purchasing modules
Minimumeducation level: Bachelor'sdegree in Business, Engineering or related field; Advanced degree is a plus.
Five to eight years' experience as a Senior Buyer or in a similar leadership position.
Advanced MS-Excel level required.
Results orientedwith strong written and oral communications skills
Ability to work in a matrixed organization
Project Management experience is a plus
Six Sigma certified is a plus
