As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will support the performance of day to day tactical purchasing functions for various spaceflight systems as well as provide guidance and support for a small team of indirect buyers who work in various locations. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of supplier communications, product pricing, quality, and build schedule and will be responsible for supplier management and performance. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


  • Perform day to day procurement activities supporting internal production and manufacturing, specifically shop floor consumables and services

  • Manage and develop strategic suppliers and material stocking strategies

  • Coordinate the purchase of material and service requirements to support internal manufacturing

  • Evaluate current processes and practices to identify areas for improvement projects

  • Work with production floor leads and the indirect buying team to select suppliers for bid and award to achieve company objectives

  • Prepare purchase orders in Costpoint and/or Coupa software

  • Ensures supplier documentation, such as terms and conditions and NDAs are ready prior to engagement. Negotiate these agreements as necessary

  • Serve as an escalation point for issues and challenges around supplier order management.

  • Support indirect buyers with order management, backlog monitoring, daily status, report tracking and schedule risks

  • Monitor suppliers' performance and prepare reports and other records. Conduct supplier business reviews and develop plans to improve supplier performance

  • Serve as an escalation point for the resolution of discrepancies related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, accounts payable invoices, and payment to the supplier


  • Seven years tactical level experience in purchasing

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment to accomplish goals while managing multiple tasks

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook and Windows programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, and independently

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


  • Experience in research and development purchasing in a collaborative, fast paced, team environment

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System or other continuous improvement methodologies

  • Experience with aerospace defense industry products preferred

  • Experience with Costpoint and Coupa purchasing system and JIRA Atlassian software

  • APICS, CPM, CSCP certification or equivalent

As part of a mortar squad, section, or platoon, you will perform challenging activities that may include parachuting from a troop transport airplane to access locations where you will construct mortars and camouflage their positions. You'll also locate and neutralize enemy mines. As your skills increase, so will your responsibilities. Advanced team members supervise and train other Soldiers, lead and control mortar squads, provide tactical and technical guidance to subordinates, and supervise the construction of mortar positions. Advanced Indirect Fire Infantrymen are responsible for receiving and implementing combat orders, directing Soldiers in offensive and defensive operations, and requesting, observing, and adjusting indirect supporting fire. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. After 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you will learn fundamental Soldiering skills, you will attend 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which will include a combination of hands-on simulated combat and classroom training where you will keep your skills sharp through frequent squad maneuvers, target practice, and war games.
