Independent Studies Teacher Tk-12 (Adelanto/Victorville)

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Guides and supports students in multiple subjects, using various methods, technology and other materials such as online curricula and packet-based coursework emphasizing focus learning strategies.

• Monitors student progress and attendance into the student database (currently School Pathways).

• Guides and monitors a student's course of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state, school and chartering district.

• Monitors, evaluates, motivates, and provides regular feedback related to student progress.

• Establishes supportive relationships with both students and parents/guardians.

• Meets with students and educational representative online (Zoom, etc), in-person, and via phone to discuss student achievement and growth opportunities.

• Participates in community groups or functions, faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and training workshops.

• May participate in related activities, such as student organizations or committees.

• Successfully motivates students to meet minimum school, state, and graduation requirements.

• Utilizes dropout prevention strategies to keep students participating and progressing towards goals
