BD is advancing the world of health. BD Urology & Critical Care, formerly Bard Medical, is looking to fill the position of Incoming Quality Control Technician located in Covington, GA.

Summary

This position ensures that all finished goods and components received into the Incoming Quality Control department are handled in accordance with internal procedures and inspected in accordance with product specifications to ensure that the products meet visual, physical, and/ or dimensional requirements.

Essential Job Functions

  • Inspects incoming product (components, finished goods) in accordance with internal procedures and Product Specifications. Inspections are indicated as Accept (meets requirements) or Non-Conforming (does not meet inspection requirements).

  • Accurately prepares inspection paperwork and result documentation.

  • Keeps accurate/ orderly records of inspections. Prepares Non-Conformances (where appropriate).

  • Properly samples product in accordance with procedures/ specifications.

  • Properly identifies and segregates product as to its status (Pending, Non-Conforming, Accept)

  • Assist with sort and reprocessing activiities.

  • Perfoms inventory transactions.

  • Assist in the review of red-lined EIPS / IPs.

  • Proper use of inspection equipment and the verification that equipment has a current calibration status.

  • Performs reboxing activities.

  • Other responsibilities as required.

  • Overtime as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer with basic level of keyboarding skills.

  • Ability to use measurement equipment (e.g. Pin Gauge, Calipers, Micrometers, Tensile testing equipment).

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Selfstarter, able to work independently with little direct supervision.

  • Responsible decision maker ability to reason and make sound decisions.

  • Must be detail oriented with adherence to Good Documentation Practices.

  • Forklift Certification/experience a plus.

Education and/or Experience

High School Education or equivalent experience in a regulated environment. A minimum of 2 years experience in an inspection environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms and lifts and/or moves up to 35 pounds. Employee is required to meet with other personnel in other areas of building. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment

Employee primarily works in an office setting, but is occasionally required to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuations in temperature and humidity. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.

The QC Technician will ensure that all procedures, inspection protocols and specifications are adhered to in accordance to Bard's product requirements and meets visual, physical, and/ or dimensional requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Performs quality control inspections on product and/ or components in accordance with internal plant SOP's and Product Specifications * Accurately prepares inspection paperwork and result documentation. * Verifies Documentation of product lot records to ensure compliance with Bard's product specifications and good documentation procedures. * Prepares MRR/Rejection Notices (where appropriate). * Utilizes sampling plans to determine inspection levels for routine quality inspections * Trains on all applicable procedures as it relates to the Quality Technician role * Participates as needed as a quality representative for small team activities for process improvements * Cross trains to provide quality control coverage as needed in support of business needs/ strategies. * Seen as a Champion of Quality as it relates to the execution of the QMS QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Education or equivalent (entry level position) Preferred: Previous experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and communicate well with individuals at all levels of the organizations. Must read and interpret sampling plans MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to perform basic math problems. Basic aptitude test required. REASONING ABILITY Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
