Lamar Community College has an exciting opportunity for you to be our next Inclusive Higher Education Director.  We are looking for a dynamic, passionate, dedicated individual who will lead and implement LCC's strategic plan.

POSITION SUMMARY:    We are seeking an energetic, highly organized, dynamic professional to join our LCC team.  Our institution provides the highest quality education and service excellence in an environment of care, support, mutual respect, and integrity. The Inclusive Higher Education program is designed to foster relationships and serve students overcoming obstacles to education including intellectual and developmental disability. The primary objective of this position is to increase the enrollment, persistence, graduation, and workforce placement of program participants.  Our IHE Director will oversee the daily functioning of program.  Our IHE Director is responsible for overseeing the development, administration, and implementation of the program. This includes supervision of professional staff, budget management, program evaluation, and programmatic and counseling support to meet the goals and retention objectives of the program.  As an employee of, and the Colorado Community College System, this position is required to uphold and enforce the policies of LCC and CCCS, and all local, state and federal laws. This position will comply with all student privacy laws (FERPA); and is a mandatory reporter of any suspected illegal activity.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees all administrative aspects of the program and the College accessibility accommodation support to ensure the program is in full compliance with the Inclusive Higher Education Act.

  • Develops proposals and prepares all reporting regarding utilization of thefunds for the third-party evaluator, other stakeholders, and ensures the program is meeting all expectations as outlined by the grant.

  • Inclusive Higher Education granting agency(ies) to maintain close working relationships related to the program and grant(s).

  • Provides leadership on the collection, interpretation, and utilization of data to assess student needs, assess student learning, monitor student performance, provide intentional and holistic advising, and evaluate programming.

  • Provides long-range strategic planning and implementation designed to optimize services for participants. Responsible for building a sustainable program model that extends beyond allocated funding by strategically securing grants and implementing innovative strategies that address needs.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Promotes an environment that encourages the retention and success of program participants.

  • Responsible for the selection of program participants, which includes supervising and ensuring the maintenance of an effective system of admission, monitoring of academic progress and service records on participants.

  • Coordinate with institutional administrators, faculty and staff on programmatic needs and procedures and work cooperatively with Enrollment Services, Residence Life, etc. to meet the needs of the Program.

  • Oversee the determination of student's eligibility to receive support services, certification of complete and appropriate documentation of disability, and the determination of the type of support services needed for each student and the set up and assessment of support services.

  • Lead orientation efforts for new students and help student get acclimated to the college environment.

  • Serve as a general resource for student with disabilities in matters relating to academic advising, basic financial aid information, college procedural questions, accommodations, and student community resource information.

  • Effectively administer the budget, and maintain fiscal records, which include monitoring expenditures to ensure they are in accordance with program goals and objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Experience working with and compliance-level knowledge of Section 504, ADA, and the current legal implications in a post-secondary educational setting.

  • Demonstrated commitment to creating and fostering an inclusive learning and working environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, or a related field from an accredited institution. 

  • 3 years of experience working with service provision for persons with disabilities.

  • Experience with testing and diagnostic evaluations for apparent and non-apparent disabilities.

  • Experience working with and compliance-level knowledge of Section 504, ADA, and the current legal implications in a post-secondary educational setting.

Salary Range:   $45,000 - $50,000. The specific salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
