Inclusion Counselor - ALL CAMPS (Seasonal)

Inclusion support at Greenbelt Camps aims to ensure that all campers feel valued and included regardless of their abilities, backgrounds, or differences. This is achieved by providing reasonable accommodations and extra support tailored to the individual needs of campers, which ultimately enhance their overall camp experience. Through inclusion support, campers can participate in shared social and physical activities, fostering a sense of belonging and community among all participants. This approach promotes diversity, equity, and empathy, creating a supportive environment where everyone can thrive and contribute positively to the camp community.

Job Requirements:
Enthusiastic participation with the campers in all camp activities is a job requirement of the inclusion counselor position. Inclusion counselors maintain a rigorous schedule, accompanying and helping to mentor a group of campers throughout the busy camp day.
We seek cheerful, energetic, responsible staffers who enjoy working with children and have a demonstrated strong interest in the arts. Unlimited positive energy is the Greenbelt summer camps' motto. If you embody that motto, you are a candidate for our staff.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old or a high school graduate as of June 17, 2024.
Responsible for the safety of all children at all times.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred; or in a related field.
Education classes or experience in camp, youth programs, and recreation.
Encourage campers to be as independent as possible, and respect each camper needs.
Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.
Ability to adapt and be flexible if there are last minute changes.
Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
First Aid and CPR certification or willing to become certified before camp preferred.
Available Monday through Friday between the hours of:
Camp Day: 8:30am-3:30pm
After Care: 3:30pm-6:00pm (if needed)
Available to work all camp sessions preferred.
