Position Backed up By: Compliance and Regulations Manager & Inbound Quality Assurance Lead
An Inbound QA Inspector is responsible for inspection, sampling, and approving all finished product bottles, caps, display box, labels, Dietary Supplement and Glanbia owned materials. Must be thorough, neat and orderly and keep their work area in a manner that supports inspection and testing. They must follow all regulatory, company and safety requirements. They must be able to consistently perform their job with little or no supervisory oversight. Must be able to walk / stand for long periods of time. Able to lift / handle material up to 60 pounds frequently. They must have a good attitude and be upbeat. They must be cheerful to employees, management and customers. They must have an attitude of always wanting to learn more and to help the Aseptic Solution's team. They must be willing to work extra hours and weekends when requested.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)
Daily sanitary cleaning of the work area
Daily verification of lab equipment (pH meter, Refractometer, Scales)
Inbound Raw and Packaging material paper work review
Inspect and sample raw materials
Maintain log of Inbound raw material paper work
Creation of raw material ID tags
Raw material sampling and labeling
Maintain log of raw material retains
Raw material inspection against established standards
Inspect all packaging materials complete packaging inspection certificates.
Creation of packaging material ID tags
Responsible for all Label inspections and approval.
Manage label database, including label control register, label claim register and label weight calculator.
Prepare shipments for external lab testing
Collect and ship customer samples
Maintain tracking log for customer samples shipped
Create Certificate of Inspection
Release raw materials and packaging materials from quarantine by applying material ID release tags to all material inspected.
Communicate food safety/quality concerns to immediate supervisor or management.
Must be willing to be trained as a back-up for lab technician
Qualification & Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in food manufacturing environment or equivalent type of manufacturing/warehouse
Proficiency in SAP preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral or schedule form
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
