The Product Marketing Manager on our Inbound Product Marketing

  • Legal Tech and AI Team will be responsible for engaging with a variety of stakeholders, including our customers and the markets we serve, to support the development of differentiated value propositions and inform priorities for the Legal Technology and Generative AI product portfolios.

This role will support initiatives to accelerate business performance, go-to-market projects, and ensure that the 'voice of the customer' and the 'voice of the market' are influencing product development and go-to-market plans by channeling back customer feedback, market dynamics and competitive intelligence.

The role also involves working closely with the outbound product marketing teams, sales, marketing, product management and other stakeholders in the business to drive value propositions that differentiate Thomson Reuters in the market and maintain the market leading positions that our segments enjoy

About the Role

In this opportunity as an Inbound Product Marketing Manager

  • Legal Technology & AI, you will:
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to develop and execute inbound product marketing programs and initiatives supporting the latest artificial intelligence and legal technology solutions on the market.

  • Develop, test, and validate the latest uses of generative artificial intelligence technology for use in the legal industry. Develop a deep understanding of our customers pain points and goals to articulate clear and differentiated value propositions.

  • Carry out market research and analysis, collating both internal and external insight through qualitative and quantitative research, to help drive direction and priorities for our products.

  • Understand current product portfolio and positioning, buyer & user personas, competitive environment, and market opportunities. Solutions may include CoCounsel Core, Document Intelligence, Intelligent Drafting, Case Center, and Strategic Insights. Personas include lawyers, law firm administrators, legal technologists, court administrators, in house corporate counsel, legal department operations staff, and others.

  • Deliver and support development of high-impact product marketing activities that drive and support product awareness, client usage and retention, market leadership, and enable new sales and up-selling/cross-selling across the legal technology portfolio.

  • Provide support to Outbound Product Marketing, for go to market activities including key messaging, proof points and tactics.

  • Communicate product value propositions to the market and internal/external teams and develop materials/tools that support the channels/segments in meeting their sales and revenue goals.

  • Provide analyses to determine ROI and effectiveness, and recommendations for program refinement. Conduct win / loss interviews and other customer-facing initiatives to bring insights into the company.

  • Gather info from appropriate business partners to create customer communications when necessary.

  • Provide ongoing reporting and updates to key stakeholders on programs, activities, and results.

  • Coordinate with other Thomson Reuters divisions and teams on select ad hoc projects.

You're a fit for the role of Inbound Product Marketing Manager

  • Legal Technology & AI if your background includes:
  • 6+ years of product marketing and/or relevant experience with specialized training.

  • Relevant experience may be in product management, marketing, or have some of that time spent experience working in a law office, corporate legal department, or the legal department of a government agency.

  • Specialized training might include a degree in marketing or a general business degree with a focus on business strategy.

  • Experience in the use of legal technology is preferred. Experience in the use of generative AI tools is a must.

  • Customer-centric; able to represent the customers' perspective and empathize with their needs; and strong commercial acumen with an ability to 'think like a customer'.

  • Knowledge of marketing and sales operations is a plus.

  • Ability to communicate persuasively and tactfully with all levels of management, co-workers, and customers, in written and verbal form.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Highly organized and self-motivated, interested in working closely with a team of other high performers.

  • Project management and analytical skills

  • Inventive, innovative and adaptable to change - this industry is moving fast.

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA appreciated
