Position Overview:
The Inbound Shipping Specialist is responsible for coordinating the inbound shipments of products via ground, airfreight, or shipping container, and communicating with the Department of Transportation (DOT), and Customs Brokers. The position serves as the primary customer contact for all inbound orders.
Essential Duties:
Extensive knowledge on all modes of delivery such a trucking, airline, ships, or train
Working with Procurement team members, material suppliers and transportation carriers to coordinate inbound logistics.
Daily communications with Procurement team members, material suppliers, and transportation to ensure timely response and coordination on critical materials.
Develop transportation relationships: identify opportunities to reduce overall freight spend.
Communicate with Customs brokers, provide tariff code information and instructions related to international and domestic (inbound) shipments.
Work closely with service providers to gather shipment details, resolve problems, or streamline processes.
Interact effectively with multiple functional areas including management, supply chain, distribution, engineering, finance, IT and legal.
Perform ad hoc analysis and create reporting that help support process improvements.
Support and maintain on going documentation of logistics procedures related to daily function.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of paperwork in software accounting system, entries of receipts, and transfer of documentation to purchasing and supervision.
Communicates delivery of incoming product to purchasing, inventory, and production
Assist shipping or other warehouse team members as needed.
Other Functions
Review daily shipment exceptions and resolve with service providers to ensure timely flow of freight.
Monitor inbound shipments and Customs clearance.
Communicate status, delays to appropriate parties.
Resolve import issues and possess the ability to determine when to elevate to management for resolution.
Assist in analysis and reconciliation of inventory.
Enter shipping data using appropriate scales, computer systems, forms, and measurements.
Maintain Import document files in accordance with Federal regulations and Company policy.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Valid Driver's License and good driving record required in order to drive company vehicles
The expected pay rate is $85,000 - $95,000. The actual pay rate offered may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to experience, knowledge, skills, and/or location.
