Job purpose:

The In-School Suspension (ISS) Paraprofessional is responsible for providing a supervised and structured environment for students assigned to the ISS Program within Dalton High School. The ISS Paraprofessional works with classroom teachers to coordinate the academic activities of suspended students and assists students in completing the assigned work. The ISS Paraprofessional also monitors students and maintains a safe and orderly environment within the in-school suspension classroom.

Qualifications:

Associates degree or higher; or at least sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education; official transcript required to validate education; ability to effectively attend to the needs of middle school aged students/small groups in the classroom under the direction of a classroom teacher and school administration.

Specific Qualifications:

Successful candidates must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe, and other school based software.

Calendar:

This position works a 186-work calendar. 7.5 hours daily.
