Our Client, who is a world renowned outdoor global travel arranger, is seeking a SQL Database Developer for an FTE role in Berkeley, CA.

Summary:
We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong background in database development.
Must Haves:

Experience with data migrations from existing apps to Salesforce CRM and ERP
4+ years of SQL Server Development (T-SQL)
4+ years of experience as a database developer in web based development environment

Be able to create complex SQL code ( stored procedures, triggers, functions, tables, performance turning, index design)

SDLC experience within a team environment

Experience in back-end coding ( Python, PHP, Windows Scripting, and other scripting languages

With more than 230 regular faculty members and 5,600 students located in seven academic departments, Engineering is the second largest college on the Berkeley campus. The College Relations office supports the College's core projects and programs through marketing, communications, and fundraising efforts designed to reach over 60,000 living alumni, friends, students, foundations, and corporate partners. The College raised $110 million in fiscal year 2018 in private gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Gift Acknowledgment Coordinator reports to the Senior Director of Development. Responsibilities include utilizing SQL Developer to modify and enhance existing code that generates gift data for approximately 7,000 gift acknowledgment letters, cards, and emails per year; utilizing gift data to generate and send timely, accurate, and personalized acknowledgment letters, cards, and emails; maintaining gift data including the auditing of gifts for approximately 7,000 transactions per year; updating alumni and donor biographical records in the Cal Advancement Data System (CADS); receiving donor gifts from department staff and faculty, preparing for deposit, and delivering to lockbox at UDAR; hire, train, supervise, and manage workflow of student gift-acknowledgment staff; researching and implementing new tools and technology to improve gift acknowledgement processes; identify potential problems with gift acknowledgements processes and propose solutions; maintaining an inventory of acknowledgment collateral; and supporting other stewardship and fundraising projects that engage the College's volunteers and top donors. Responsibilities 65% Acknowledge Donor Gifts: * Utilizing SQL Developer, modify and enhance existing code to identify, verify, and batch gifts designated for the College of Engineering. Utilizing batch data and mail merge generate more than 7,000 gift acknowledgment letters, cards, and emails annually, following established standards for accuracy, personalization, and timeliness. * Gathering gift documentation from various sources. * Importing gift and constituent data to COE's acknowledgment workflow process and matching data to gift documentation. * Ensuring that data is configured correctly for mail-merge operation. * Proofing and printing acknowledgment letters and cards for signature and mailing. * Coordinating the notification process for "in memory of" and "in honor of" gifts. * Hire, train, supervise, and manage work-flow of student employees to support gift processing and acknowledgment functions. * Coordinate annual updating of acknowledgment templates. * Maintain inventory of gift acknowledgment collateral including stationery and donor premiums. 20% General Support of College Relations: * Support development priorities and special projects. * Assist with staffing of donor and college events. * Assist with development of text and compiling of data for Development section of College Relation's annual plan. * Other duties as assigned. 10% Receive and Process Donor Gifts: * As a designated gift-administration subject matter expert for COE, consult with college colleagues to resolve problems and liaise with University Development & Alumni Relations (UDAR) to ensure that COE gifts are processed properly. * Receive donor gifts from department staff and faculty and incoming mail, prepare for deposit, and deliver to UDAR lockbox. Distribute remaining mail to appropriate staff. 5% Manage Gift Acknowledgement Process: * Monitor, document, and evaluate acknowledgment program activities and results. * Identify opportunities to improve the donor experience; collaborate with other Advancement Systems team members to develop and implement improvement plans. * Proactively identify potential improvements or problems with acknowledgement processes or systems, research and implement new tools, identify and propose solutions. * Maintain gift processing and acknowledgment procedures manual, noting ongoing process improvements. Required Qualifications * Working knowledge of fundraising and donor relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques. * Outstanding skills in utilizing the Cal Advancement Data System (CADS). * Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc. * Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word including effective utilization of mail merge features. * Strong interpersonal and written communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the campus and with external constituencies. Strong proofreading and editing skills to produce extremely accurate communications with donors. * Outstanding organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills. * Intermediate to advanced knowledge of databases and database management tools. Familiarity with basic database management protocols. * Skill to maintain confidentiality. * Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. * Experience working with fundraising database and CRM (customer relationship management) systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, BSR Advance, Convio, ImportOmatic, Cal Advancement Data System) and other tools (MailChimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud). Preferred Qualifications * Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL and other tools inherent in SQL Developer environment.
