Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance and support to HR, management, and other departments on a wide range of employment matters, including but not limited to hiring, termination, employee relations, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour compliance, and employee benefits.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and procedures, ensuring they comply with applicable laws and align with company objectives.

  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on developments in employment law to assess potential impact on the company's policies and practices.

  • Manage employment-related litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, and representing the company in administrative proceedings and court hearings.

  • Collaborate with external counsel as needed on complex legal issues and litigation matters.

  • Develop and conduct training sessions for employees and managers on various employment law topics to promote compliance and foster a positive work environment.

  • Assist with other legal matters and projects as assigned by the General Counsel or other senior management.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the state Bar.

  • 2-5 years of experience practicing employment law, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department.

  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, and state wage and hour laws.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to provide practical legal advice that balances legal risks with business objectives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

  • High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest professional standards.
