Responsibilities:
Provide legal guidance and support to HR, management, and other departments on a wide range of employment matters, including but not limited to hiring, termination, employee relations, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour compliance, and employee benefits.
Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and procedures, ensuring they comply with applicable laws and align with company objectives.
Conduct legal research and stay updated on developments in employment law to assess potential impact on the company's policies and practices.
Manage employment-related litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, and representing the company in administrative proceedings and court hearings.
Collaborate with external counsel as needed on complex legal issues and litigation matters.
Develop and conduct training sessions for employees and managers on various employment law topics to promote compliance and foster a positive work environment.
Assist with other legal matters and projects as assigned by the General Counsel or other senior management.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the state Bar.
2-5 years of experience practicing employment law, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, and state wage and hour laws.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to provide practical legal advice that balances legal risks with business objectives.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
