Import/Export Specialist

We are looking for a Domestic Import/Export Specialist to join our team and support the Natural Ingredients business in Turlock, California. In this role you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining documents related to the international shipment of all goods. They obtain approval for orders, invoices and document cost data. The International Coordinator will liaise with staff, customers and logistics third parties to coordinate the shipping and delivery of goods. They will ensure that all government and organizational policies are followed. This position will connect purchasing, customer service, shipping and receiving to achieve common goals.

What you'll do:

• Coordinates all export transportation requirements of Customer Service department to meet customer requirements, including accurate and timely delivery of export documentation to customers. Work closely with brokers and shippers to arrange shipments

• Coordinates all import transportation requirements of the Purchasing department to meet internal requirements for delivery. Conducts data entry using Sensient Transportation Management System

• Review all international shipping requests for accurate information, U.S. customs requirements are met, and coordinate governmental inspections to ensure on time deliver and shipping.

• Interact with customer service, shipping and receiving to address any international transportation issues

• Monitor all demurrage and detention and reports to management

What you'll bring:

• Four years of general transportation logistics and familiarity with knowledge of booking transportation requirements

• Experience with TMS, WMS, and other SAAS/ERP systems, excellent computer skills (Excel/Word)

• International Transportation -- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs

• Good problem-solving skills

• Judgment and Decision Making -- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one

About Sensient Natural Ingredients

Sensient Natural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Natural Ingredients unit is located in Turlock, California.

The salary range for this position is $66,275 - $110,475.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.  This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive pay.

RELOCATION: We are unable to offer relocation assistance. The successful candidate will be expected to work at Turlock, California facility and must reside in the area or be willing to commute.
