"A Day in the Life"

As the Import/Export Coordinator you will provide guidance for both internal and external customers on shipping equipment domestically and internationally. The role involves interfacing with various shipping vendors to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and serving as an information source on customs and shipping requirements. This position reports directly to the Logistics/Trade Compliance Manager.

"What You'll Do"

  • Prepare and validate shipping documents, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and export licenses.

  • Verify the accuracy of documentation and customer information.

  • Coordinate the transportation system via customer profiles, rental agreements, or other systems.

  • Input data accurately for reports to maintain appropriate tracking information.

  • Prepare regular reports for the Logistics Manager, Shipping, and Operations.

  • Support the import process to ensure cost-effective and timely return of equipment upon rental completion.

  • Audit imports for compliance with U.S. Customs Regulations.

  • Utilize US goods returned (Article 9801.00.1010) and foreign goods returned (Article 9801.00.2000) for import duty cost management and understand the duty drawback process.

  • Post summary corrections of imports.

  • Ensure import/export compliance in accordance with the US Census Bureau, 15 CFR BIS for exports, and 19 CFR for imports.

  • Calculate duties, taxes, and tariffs on transported equipment, as needed.

  • Assist with shipping preparation, package prioritization, and nightly closing processes.

  • Support other departments as needed.

  • Process Carnet shipments and manage cargo insurance requirements.

"Must Haves"

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in the position.

  • Certification/Training in export/import compliance.

  • Strong familiarity with 15 CFR, 19 CFR, HTS classification, Article 98, Duty Drawback, AES, and BIS.

  • Effective collaboration skills with peers, managers, departments, and internal/external customers.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

  • Capability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Highly accurate and detail oriented.

  • Highly organized and dependable.

Special Considerations:

  • Monday to Friday work schedule with availability until 9:30pm and flexibility for some weekends.

  • Overtime and on call hours may be required.

  • May require occasional overnight travel.
