Reporting to the Textron Systems Director Import/Export Compliance, the Export/Import Compliance Analyst will proactively handle export/import compliance matters for Textron Systems as assigned. Will interact with employees at all levels and will work both independently and with other members of the Legal, Contracts and Compliance Department staff on a variety of interesting international trade compliance matters. This role, located in Hunt Valley, MD, or Slidell, LA, requires successful management of a broad range of responsibilities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. In performing this role the Export/Import Compliance Analyst will:


  • Provide a full range of proactive export compliance guidance to program management, contracts, procurement, business development, shipping, security and other functional areas, including domestic/foreign operations and subsidiaries.

  • Prepare DDTC and Commerce license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements and Warehousing Distribution Agreements.

  • Determine applicability of ITAR exemptions, ECCNs, and use of Commerce license exceptions

  • Work in collaboration with in-house attorneys and outside counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Provide support in connection with internal/external audits and investigations.

  • Track application status, maintain database of granted export approvals, satisfy record-keeping requirements, and prepare required reports.

  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date Export Compliance Policies, Procedures and Manuals.

  • Assist in planning and conducting employee training.

  • Assist in determining export jurisdiction and ECCN/USML classification for all products.

  • May perform other Trade Compliance duties as assigned


Bachelor's Degree from an accredited nationally recognized university required (emphasis on international trade management, international business, MBA a plus).

  • ITAR compliance and export license preparation experience, with progressively more complex responsibilities as well as working knowledge of the EAR a plus.

  • Experience in government contracting, software, and/or defense and aerospace industry a plus

  • Excellent drafting skills; demonstrated experience administering agreements and/or contracts a plus

  • Computer literacy, including competency with DTRADE on-line licensing system and Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required.

  • Exceptionally strong administrative and organizational skills

  • Applicant must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien, with the ability to obtain / maintain a DoD security clearance

  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel domestically and internationally

  • Must have a strong work ethic and a desire to consistently perform at the highest levels of competence

  • Superb interpersonal, communication, writing, and editing skills and the ability to learn quickly, work in a team environment with minimal supervision, manage/prioritize multiple tasks, and lead complex projects

  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously with a minimum amount of supervision

  • A team player with an open, mature and positive personality who is willing to share and communicate information effectively while maintaining high levels of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion

  • Consistent attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize and timely produce high quality work product is absolutely essential

  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, problem solving abilities, good judgment, and the proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management

The Financial Analyst position is an integral member of the Trade Spend Center of Excellence and will be the subject matter expert on all price related activities, price pages and processes. The role is primarily responsible for managing the execution of updating and maintaining multiple customer price pages, implementing pricing changes in SAP and Trade Promotion Management systems, researching invoice pricing discrepancies while working with the cross functional teams on resolutions.</p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><ul><li><p>Point person responsible for executing and maintaining customer price pages for any changes including but not limited to; pricing actions, new item launches or discontinuations, changes in customer deals, or any other ad hoc price page updates.</p></li><li><p>Publish customer price pages to salesforce in an accurate and timely way to enable sales to communicate with the customer.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate analysis of invoice pricing discrepancies amongst Financial Analysts in Commercial and Sales Finance</p></li><li><p>Determine root cause of pricing discrepancies and drive resolution and future corrective actions.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate pricing updates for quarterly forecasts, working closely with Commercial Finance to provide the most accurate pricing information.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with Financial Analyst II during specific customer contract updates by analyzing and maintaining the customer specific price pages.</p></li><li><p>Maintain and update customer specific pricing in SAP</p></li><li><p>Coordinates with Global Enablement Team to implement and maintain customer specific Off Invoice and EDLC Allowances</p></li><li><p>Work with Customer Service to develop efficiencies around price discrepancy resolution.</p></li><li><p>Other ad hoc financial analysis requests and project work as required, including pricing analysis in the TPM system.</p></li></ul><p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.</p></li><li><p>Minimum of 2 years of Accounting or Financial analysis.</p></li><li><p>Detail oriented with a bias towards the highest quality of accuracy.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the capabilities of transaction &amp; reporting systems.</p></li><li><p>Understands available reporting, drill down capabilities, and able to organize data in a way that adds value to analysis.</p></li><li><p>Strong proficiency in Excel and basic proficiency in Word and Power Point.</p></li><li><p>Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively at all levels.</p></li><li><p>Self-management of own workload - capability to plan work and meet deadlines under pressure.</p></li><li><p>Self-starter and proactive in initiating action steps.</p></li></ul><p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p><ul><li><p>Experience with SAP, Hyperion, and Business Warehouse.</p></li><li><p>Experience in manufacturing environment or other supply chain/costing area.</p></li><li><p>Experience participating on projects supporting Finance initiatives within the business.</p></li></ul><p>#LI-CG1</p><p>McCormick &amp; Company is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
