Position Summary:
The Import Transportation Coordinator regularly and directly interfaces with Mohawk's clients and carriers to ensure a high level of performance in the movement of goods through the supply chain, from start to finish. The Import Transportation Coordinator possesses an inquisitive mindset to investigate and resolve problem shipments and other aspects of freight management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Instruct agent offices in the handling of Mohawk shipments
Build shipments according to customer requirements
Assist team leaders/supervisors with training less experienced coordinators
Oversee complex transportation moves and/or complex customer requirements (air consolidations, chassis pools, foreign-to-foreign shipments)
Choose the most reliable and cost-effective service to meet customers' needs
Trace and track shipments to their final destination via CargoWise (freight management system)
Arrange clearance and delivery to customer facilities
Take proactive and proper action whenever needed to avoid delays or problems
Prepare reports and/or advising clients of shipment status
Issue quotes to clients
Rate files in accordance with client rates
Audit P&L statements & resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
Finalize files with billing charges, complete billing invoices
Complete additional duties as assigned
Desired Skills/Experience:
Associates or Bachelors Degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or other related field preferred
Solid knowledge of International Transportation (Air & Ocean) as well as U.S. Customs & Border Protection and other Government agency regulations preferred
Strong computer skills required
Excellent communication skills required
2+ years Import/Transportation experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize
Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and must be very detail oriented
Must be able to resolve problems in all aspects of job
Have an open mind to accept changing work environment
