Company Overview:

Sam Moore Furniture/HF Custom, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation, is currently recruiting an Import Frame Receiver to join our Frame/CNC department to work in our manufacturing plant in Bedford, VA. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 100th year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly dependable and responsible Import Frame Receiver to join our team. This position will be responsible for the receipt and inventory of wood frames, plywood, and finished wood parts. This role ensures that all wood parts are accurately tracked, loaded for assembly and communicated to the purchasing department.

Responsibilities:

Receiving and Inspection

• Receive and inspect all incoming shipments of finished wood frames, plywood deliveries, and finished wood leg parts.

Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate records of inventory across all BMC locations and the CNC stock room.

• Regularly update inventory systems to reflect current stock levels and locations.

• Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.

Stock Loading and Coordination

• Load finished wood parts from stock for assembly according to the production schedule.

• Ensure that all necessary materials are available and prepared for the assembly team.

• Coordinate with assembly teams to prioritize and fulfill material requests.

Communication

• Communicate promptly with the purchasing department regarding the receipt of wood parts.

• Report any discrepancies or issues with shipments to the appropriate departments.

• Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any receiving issues.

Quality Control

• Ensure all received wood parts meet quality standards and specifications.

• Report any quality issues to the quality control team and assist in resolving them.

Safety and Compliance

• Follow all safety protocols and procedures during the receiving and handling of materials.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, or related fields are a plus.

• Proven experience in a receiving or inventory management role, preferably in a manufacturing or woodworking environment. (not required, but a plus)

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (certification may be required).

• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) as required.

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Shift: Monday- Friday 6 am- 2:30 pm

Pay: 16.00 per hour
