  • The Project Manager is a strong leader for large-scale, complex multi-discipline installations involving instrumentation, data management, and automation system solutions within a Clinical Laboratory environment. The Project Manager adheres to a prescribed project Management Standard of Work following guidelines from PMI and exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action for implementation and issue resolution.

  • The Project Manager role is to facilitate the customer installation project from the initiation phase through the closing phase. This will include the following activities:

  • Participate in pre-installation meetings with BCI Sales partners and the customer.

  • Conduct pre-installation meetings and work with the Hospital laboratory facilities personnel and the laboratory team members to develop the project timelines.

  • Execute professional project planning using effective oral and written communication.

  • Provide flawless implementation execution while monitoring the timelines throughout all phases of the project.

  • Maintain and present the current task list at each meeting.

  • Communicate periodic updates to the primary Stakeholders

  • Act as the single point of contact ensuring the streamlined communication between the customer and BCI.

  • Manage BCI resources both personnel and inventory to maintain the schedule

  • Facilitate lessons learned sessions throughout all phases of the project

  • Provide superior post installation follow-up and issue resolution

  • B.S. Degree with 3 to 5 years of Project Management experience with proven track record in managing projects, and be able to provide examples and project artifacts, ie. Communication Plans, Project Plans, Risk Plans, etc.

  • Degree in Project Management a plus, not required

  • PMP Certification or PMP eligible (real life project experience that counts towards qualification to sit for exam).

  • Proven excellence in communication, presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate across business functions.

  • Advanced understanding of Diagnostics or Healthcare Industry with heavy emphasis on Laboratory Regulatory environment.

  • Must be willing to work out home based office.

  • Must be willing to travel domestically at least 80% of the time (based on the need of the position).

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Excellent presentation and/or facilitation skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Possess clear, concise and accurate written and verbal communications.

  • Possesses strong skills in problem solving and conflict management.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Market Access Manager within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Infectious Disease (ARDx- IDDM) business. The scope of this position includes deploying a comprehensive reimbursement strategy for the Infectious Disease (ID) portfolio in the US which includes the leading the point-of-care (POC) molecular platform ID NOW. The Market Access Manager - West will be responsible for executing on the broader reimbursement strategy by developing regional/local reimbursement initiatives in conjunction with KOLs and the field sales team. The ID products are currently utilized across market segments: health systems, individual hospital and physician office, urgent care, retail health with pharmacy emerging as potential site of testing. This individual will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and field resource for their region on reimbursement related activities. Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (formerly Alere) is part of Abbott's Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry-leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Engage directly with payors in assigned Region to effectively communicate the value of ID portfolio to secure favorable reimbursement policy decisions. * Support field team in identifying clinician advocates (KOLs) to support and further IDDM initiatives impacting payors, associations and government policy. * Develop regional Market Access reimbursement strategy by key product areas, including molecular and lateral flow technologies by analyzing data from varied sources to inform comprehensive strategy and to build organizational alignment. * Execute on payor advocacy efforts in coordination with local/regional ARDx and IDDM cross-functional and Abbott cross-divisional teams in territory. * Participate in third party support initiatives with established companies and organizations including CodeMap, leading outside reimbursement law firms, and industry coalition advocating the value of point-of-care (POC) testing. * Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with local sales organizations (Regional Directors) to align on deliverables and needs for the markets for both current and future products. * Contribute to the broader IDDM organization as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the US reimbursement landscape across the broad continuum of sites of care. * Field based position requires someone that collaborates well cross-functionally. Position will require frequent travel throughout territory. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Seven years of relevant industry experience. Demonstrated understanding of the varied payment models utilized at the sites of care for the ID portfolio.Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to create and deliver professional, and impactful presentations.Strong multi-tasking and project management skills needed.Demonstrates understanding of the applicable industry regulations and quality management systems including approved product labeling. Bachelor's degree required.
