The Impact Manager seeks empirical answers to essential questions about Amplify's programs, beginning with the most basic one: what, in the end, is really important in education? Are student succeeding? Are they motivated? Excited? How is success evaluated? Under what conditions are students most successful? What improvements should Amplify make to its curriculum products and services to maximize success? How might schools make more effective use of Amplify products?
The Impact Manager will operate at the interface between research, product development, school implementation, measurement science, and technology. The hired candidate will develop expert knowledge of the content and pedagogy of the Amplify's programs, of Amplify's backend data systems and reports, and apply design thinking methodologies to develop, test, and deploy highly relevant measures of educational impact.
Responsibilities of the Impact Manager:
Work with learning scientists, data scientists, and measurement specialists to help develop, test, revise, and deploy measures of impact that matter
Apply data, content, and customer expertise and research to inform our product roadmaps, set goals, and champion the role of impact in product decisions.
Work with curriculum developers and measurement scientists to develop and implement methods for measuring impact.
Investigate and document measurement instruments and practices (e.g. formative, interim and summative assessments) in use in school systems.
Assist school-based customers in getting the most from Amplify products by analyzing patterns of usage.
Basic Qualifications of the Impact Manager:
Master's degree in a relevant field.
5 years of experience working in a school setting.
Preferred Qualifications of the Impact Manager:
Flexible, curious disposition; openness to acquiring new tools and techniques.
Strong problem solving, time and project management skills; ability to prioritize projects and tasks, assess and deploy resources.
Experience in the analysis of secondary data sets from the social sciences.
Knowledge of basic statistical methods.
Strong writing skills in English.
Strong presentation skills.
Solid knowledge of research methods.
