City Year Milwaukee (CYMKE) was founded in 2010 and will deploy AmeriCorps members serving in 8 Milwaukee Public Schools for the 2024-25 school year.
Job Description
Position Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director, Impact, the Impact Director plays a critical role in implementing and tracking outcomes of City Year Milwaukee's school-based service model. The Impact Director supervises up to 5 Impact Managers overseeing up to 50 AmeriCorps members serving across multiple school sites.
The Impact Director is responsible for the overall management of the day-to-day programmatic operations of their team. Additionally, the Impact Director is responsible for leading the Impact Team on processes and systems for data collection, tracking, and reporting, as well as overseeing the execution of a highly rated AmeriCorps member experience. The Impact Director will collaborate closely with the Managing Director of Impact to ensure that City Year Milwaukee meets the needs of the students in the schools in which we serve, the goals as established with our district partners, and the AmeriCorps members who commit to serve for 1-3 years.
Responsibilities
Whole School Whole Child Implementation
Responsible for implementation of City Year's Whole School, Whole Child model across assigned schools by aligning City Year's national program model with the needs of Milwaukee Public Schools
Leads team in identifying clear lead measures that tell the story of impact and lead on intervention enrollment, consistency, and quality
Conduct regular school visits to support Impact Managers through observations and coaching and provide coaching on continuous improvement of the AmeriCorps member experience
Support targeted national initiatives as assigned
Support implementation of the Site Advancement Plan
Management & People Development
Directly supervise up to 5 Impact Managers
Develop high performing staff and AmeriCorps members and use performance management process to coach team members to meet individual development and performance goals
Work with Impact Leadership Team and Chief of Staff to identify training needs of staff and AmeriCorps members to ensure alignment with service delivery priorities and outcomes
Maintain a strong sense of City Year culture and values; foster strong connections between City Year culture and the impact of our work in schools
Play a leading role in advancing City Year Milwaukee's commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusivity, and Equity
School Partnerships
Meet with school administrators monthly to assess partnership strengths and opportunities
Coach Impact Managers on building and leveraging school relationships, focusing on stakeholders such as principals, teachers, and students
Manage schoolhouse challenges that are escalated, as necessary
Lead in the planning and execution of quarterly Principal Summits
AmeriCorps Member Experience (ACME)
Own the planning and execution of AmeriCorps Member recognition and appreciation activities, support with planning of other site wide initiatives and activities focused on corps members including event logistics
Collaborate with Service and Learning Director to advocate career development (LACY) opportunities to meet corps members needs and build relationships with career partners based on corps members career interests
Support Community Partnerships Manager with strategic implementation of high school student recruitment
Serve as the primary point person for team's quarterly corps member survey (Culture Amp) completion, review, feedback loop and action steps at a site level
Work with Directors and Managing Director of Impact to conduct ongoing feedback sessions with AmeriCorps Members to gauge their service experience
Collaborate with designated site point to support AmeriCorps Members in understanding and accessing their existing benefits (example: health benefits, Employee Assistance Program, counseling support services, etc.)
This role is for you if you have:
At least 3 years of management experience with strong track record of results:
Setting high expectations and holding self and team accountable for performance goals
Developing diverse talent through coaching, performance reviews, and leadership opportunities
Using progress and outcome data to inform team management
Experience working in youth development and/or educational setting.
Classroom educator experience highly preferred
A background high school level education and curriculum highly preferred
Ability to establish sustainable partnerships with schools, district administration, and relevant stakeholders
Ability to effectively make and communicate decisions
A Strong passion for and commitment to City Year's mission of delivering high impact service to children and schools; developing young adults participating in national service as powerful civic leaders and life-long active citizens; promoting and advancing the concept of voluntary national service; belief in youth as agents of social change
City Year/AmeriCorps experience is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:
Starting salary range: $60 - 65k, commensurate with experience. Great benefits including health insurance with Flexible Spending Account, paid vacation, organizational and floating holidays, parental leave, matching 401K, annual merit-based increases and more.
