The Immunology Account Clinical Specialist (ACS) District Manager position is responsible for driving demand for the assigned product (CIMZIA Lyophilized Solution) coordinating, motivating, inspiring, leading and directing the activities of an assigned sales team of Immunology Account Clinical Specialists within an assigned district; engaging and building relationships with clinical decision makers and office support staff to create the best experiences for patients living with severe immunologic diseases who are treated in the in-office care setting. The Immunology Account Clinical Specialist District Manager will be required to demonstrate an excellence in core UCB Stakeholder Facing Competencies that lead to achievement of sales goals and objectives for at-home administered UCB product (CIMZIA Lyophilized Solution). Territory to include: Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota and Indiana


  • Delivers consistent, compliant sales results of in-office product volume (CIMZIA Lyophilized Solution) in the assigned District by motivating, inspiring, leading and directing the activities of an assigned sales team of Immunology Account Clinical Specialists

  • Ensures the execution of the in-office business strategy for the assigned market segment,

  • Coaching and developing a results-oriented team of ACS who influence in-office medical stakeholders' use of the company's products.

  • Ensuring the ACS sales force understands and applies in-depth clinical and business expertise as they sell and that they demonstrate effective selling skills.

  • Ensures that the ACS salesforce collaborates with business partners efficiently and effectively by being able to accurately articulate the value proposition of the assigned product (CIMZIA Lyophilized Solution), to maximize impact for patients treated in-office

  • Building relationships with all stakeholders, to establish a known, long-term presence of the US iPVU and enhance sustainable growth of company products in the District

  • Developing a strong understanding and awareness of the patient journey of care, including the unique needs of patients within the in-office care setting.

  • Establishes an understanding of the local ecosystems, including the payor environment, including pharmacy benefits; demonstrating the ability to successfully navigate the complexities of local care delivery systems and models, comprised of multiple payers, with varying degrees of restriction and barriers to patient access for the assigned UCB product (CIMZIA Lyophilized Solution).

  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the competitive market place and drivers of prescriber decisions.

  • Demonstrates consistent application of the UCB Patient Value Strategy principles by establishing collaborative and team oriented working relationships, integrating with local UCB ecosystem business partners, in a matrix environment encompassing Field Reimbursement Managers, Immunology Account Clinical Specialist and their leadership, Partnership Leads, Regional and National Account Executives and Medical Science Liaisons, as appropriate and in compliance with UCB policies, to ensure coordination and execution of shared accountabilities such as clinical discussions, product access, and advocacy strategies with targeted HCPs.

  • Knows when and how to bring in the right expertise at the right time from other UCB matrix roles based on the customer need or opportunity at hand, ensuring all engagement activities within an account are coordinated and all team members are informed.

  • Strategically manages all allocated resources such as financial/budgets, samples, access opportunities, home office resources.

  • Stays current with all UCB training.

  • Compliant with all UCB policies and approved messages; using only approved UCB sales materials and messages with HCPs, and other external stakeholders.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree BA/BS

  • A minimum of five (5) years of successful management and/or supervisory experience of a team selling an FDA approved specialty product or device

  • 5 years direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device or healthcare industry that has included:

  • Experience in reimbursement, including at-home administered products

  • Discussing therapeutic strategies to inform and influence decision makers

  • Developing and applying clinical and business expertise, and effective selling skills

  • Executing marketing strategies at the local level

  • Experience with injectable products

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities

  • Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities and adaptability to changing market conditions

  • Demonstrated understanding of managed care landscape and how it influences/impacts business

  • Strong verbal, influencing, presentation and written communication skills

  • Strong collaboration skills and success working in teams

  • Resides within assigned geography

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Marketing, Sales Training, Sales Operations or Market Access experience

  • Completion of a professional leadership development program

  • Experience in reimbursement

  • Experience with injectable biologics products

  • Biological product launch experience

  • Experience in calling on Gastroenterologists or Rheumatologists

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver License

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to drive and/or fly to meetings and client sites

  • Some overnight travel required 25-50%, depending on geographic assignment

A Day in the Life Responsible for selling and integrating Medtronic Complex Spine and Deformity technologies into spine surgery. In addition, responsible for driving deep account penetration and new user adoption of complex spine procedures at key strategic accounts and teaching institutions in their assigned geographical region.
