Immunology Laboratory Technician (Bioanalytics)

Calling all Immunology Technicians! As an IDEXX Immunology Laboratory Technician, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. You will perform immunoassays that helps serve professionals in the biomedical and life science fields across the United States. IDEXX BioAnalytics' scientific expertise takes a novel approach to the discovery of new diagnostic tests that supplement a robust portfolio of products and services. We partner with Pharma, BioTech, and Academia (the scientific community) to improve animal and human health.

In this Role:

• You will check in incoming samples and process DBS and serum samples for MFI and IFA testing Communicate with other labs and LSS to locate samples

• You will enter clinical cases, create templates and roadmaps using the Ocelot LIMS

• You will perform the MFI procedure (including loading samples with ViaFlo, reading MFI plates, importing/uploading data, interpret MFI raw data and fully understand when to order secondary testing.

• You will manage large numbers of plates in an MFI run and optimize process

• You will recognize equipment failure and notify supervisor or team lead

• You will aliquot working stocks of positive and negative control sera for MFI and IFA and maintain inventory in FreezerPro.

• You will restock lab supplies as needed and inform supervisor when supplies are low.

• You will hand wash labware

• You may cross train in PCR, Necropsy, and/or LSS

What do you need to succeed?

• The ideal candidate will have a 4-year degree in a science-related field.

• You have a general science background and micro-pipetting skills.

• Analytical thinking while operating lab instruments and when reading the test's results.

• You have a positive attitude and love to bring that energy into the lab every day to support your colleagues

• You are looking forward to working in a team

• You concentrate on the details and can work reliably and precisely

• You have a great sense of team spirit and responsibility

• You have the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as appropriate.

• You are able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab - standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability - close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• This is a laboratory, so there is potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

Schedule:

This is a full-time (40 hr/wk) 1st shift position with hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.
