Job Overview:

The Injection Molding Production Superintendent is accountable for providing leadership and management of production operations. This key role requires the ability to coach and direct other leaders and production associates while collaborating with internal and external resources, additionally supporting cross- functions to meet production requirements and exceed company goals.

Focus is on safety, quality, and production; in addition, development, management, and motivation of production associates to increase productivity and improve efficiencies.

This job requires strong communications to ensure clear direction for managing, obtaining and sustaining production requirements and goals. The Superintendent must have the ability to collaborate with line supervisors and all levels of management.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that employees in assigned department(s) comply with all Health, Safety and Regulatory Rules.

  • Coach, mentor, train and motivate staff.

  • Provide continuous improvement of production efficiencies, scrap and quality levels production.

  • Developing strategies to meet production goals

  • Understand the philosophy and technical aspects of lean manufacturing.

  • Develop lean culture within the manufacturing environment and lead the departments in Kaizen and lean thinking initiatives.

  • Conducts team meetings and maintains necessary documents.

  • Promote team activities and participation.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

  • Leading staff and maintaining good employee relations.

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

The ideal candidate will have/possess the following skills/qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 5-10 years in a manufacturing salary role

  • Previously supervised/managed 20+ employees

  • Familiarity with Production, HR, PC&L and Maintenance IT Systems

  • Knowledge of BPE

  • Knowledge of the CBA

  • Ability to coach and counsel supervisors regarding employee relations issues

  • A proven leader who can manage complex situations with a high level of execution
