Imaging Veterinary Technician

Are you a detail-oriented technician with keen visual skills that loves anatomy and has a vast interest in advance imaging, such as CT and MRI?

We are looking for an experienced technician to help support our very busy Diagnostic Imaging service. We are willing to train the right candidate with a strong anatomy foundation. You will be working alongside boarded radiologists, anesthesiologists and many other specialists to obtain fantastic diagnostic images for our patients.

Ideal Candidates' Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong basic technical skills: restraint, IVC placement, phlebotomy, radiology, ability to obtain patient vitals with knowledge of typical parameters

• Ability to safely and securely restrain patients using proper techniques

• Ability to take initiative while working in a team environment

• Possess sound decision making skills with the ability to multi-task while working in an environment of stress

Advanced Imaging Technician Responsibilities:

• Care and maintenance of 16-slice CT and MRI machines

• Troubleshoot and manage minor software difficulties

• Ensure patients are positioned correctly based on specific anatomical landmarks, adjust as necessary

• Assist in other departments as necessary and able

We strive to help our technicians maintain a healthy work-life balance by offering set schedules so you can plan your life outside of work. Your schedule will consist of four, 10-hour shifts per week, with 3 days off.

Our 30,000 sq. ft. facility is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment including a 16 slice CT, MRI, endoscopy room, multiple mechanical ventilators, two digital radiology suites, a flat bed and C-Arm fluoroscopy units, linear accelerator, an ophthalmologic operating microscope, nuclear scintigraphy, interventional radiology, and a newly constructed minimally invasive integrated surgical suite.

We have separate gastrointestinal and respiratory intensive care isolation wards, a separate and dedicated cat ward as well as an I-131 treatment ward. We have specialists in Anesthesiology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Physical Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine.

We actively promote cross training in all the departments and we are seeking motivated individuals who are interested in learning how to run all of the hospital's equipment and perform all of our intricate procedures

2+ years' experience as a veterinary technician is required. RVT preferred

Schedule:

• 4,10-hour shifts per week

• Mon-Thurs

• Monthly hospital-wide on-call required.
