Position Summary

The role of the Imaging Student Technologist reports to the Imaging Manager. This position, under close supervision, is responsible for assisting in the performance of diagnostic testing as ordered by the physician.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Assist in the performance of diagnostic testing which includes the operation of various diagnostic equipment within the imaging departments

• Provide direct patient care as required by the ordered exam and ensure care is provided in a safe and efficient manner

• Maintain all required education set by imaging department

• Continuously monitor equipment for failures and report findings to leadership

Qualifications

• Education: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited radiologic technology program or registry eligible with temporary AR state licensure

• Licensure and Certifications: BLS, required.

• Experience: Requires knowledge of radiology practices as generally associated with completion of one year of an accredited radiology program and current enrollment in the second year of that program.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs, and positioning patients and equipment.

This position spends 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position serves a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population. This position has exposure to communicable disease, body fluids and radiation.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment and 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
