Responsible for the performance of all types of noninvasive blood flow testing procedures specific to the Vascular Lab, to assist interpreting physicians in diagnosis and/or treatments. Work requires comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the vascular system. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services. Job requires knowledge, skills and abilities to provide psychosocial and cultural age-related care from adolescent through geriatric population. Must have analytical skills necessary to interact with physicians, hospital staff, offices, patients, families and guests and other healthcare providers. Enhances professional performance by keeping current with vascular literature, attending seminars and continuing education. Accountable to the patient and family for care provided, and to the Director of Outpatient Services for the totality of work performance. Meets all the criteria/factors of the core values or competencies required by LMH
Recognize and record acute focal abnormalities.
Provide preliminary reports for DVT
Demonstrate proficiency in vascular software applications, including PACS.
Demonstrate proficiency in U/S imaging techniques, PVR, Doppler and other devices following established and documented standard protocols
Keep work area clean, with adequate supplies on hand.
Protect equipment from damage due to improper use, and troubleshoot problems.
Accurately document on specialized forms and ensure other documents are in control
Resolve operational issues related to scheduling, and distribution of reports.
Two years of appropriate level training or technical certification by ARDMS
Maintain HCP certification
Follow complicated written, verbal, and basic mathematical calculations.
Proficient in the use of general office equipment; copiers, fax Valco scanner
Obtain relevant patient information from the patient and/or medical record
Be knowledgeable of medical necessity requirements, ABN's
