The Special Procedures Specialist will provide optimum patient care while using imaging modalities, performs radiographic procedures, applies principles of radiation protection and the ALARA principle, exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures, provides patient care essential to radiographic procedures for all patients from infancy to the geriatric patient, recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures, establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and the Medical Staff. Performs radiology services "on call" as needed. Responsible for knowledge of human anatomy, routine positioning and specialized view positioning, technical factors and film selection, radiation safety, proper sterile technique, PACS / CR / Meditech (as related to imaging) and contrast media administration.

Education: High School Diploma or GED and graduate of an accredited school of Radiology
Experience: Previous Radiology experience preferred. Competency in components of imaging practice as appropriate.
Licenses/Certificates: Current license with TDSHS MRT Board and ARRT (or eligible); current American Heart Association BCLS or within one month of employment
