Position: Imaging Records Specialist

Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00a to 5:30p

Location: Gainesville

Job Descriptions:

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform clerical functions and is responsible for contributing to the overall efficiency of the Imaging Service.

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum one year as Image Record Specialist or related clerical job skills.

NGHS This PST Scheduler position is Full Time Days. Schedule: 9:00am - 6:30pm, Weekdays Location: NGMC Gainesville Pre-Surgical Testing Unit Department Overview: Pre-Surgical Testing's primary purpose is to serve patients in the pre-surgical phase of care in preparation for surgery. RNs identify patient needs, set goals with patients and implement nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Pre-Surgical Testing RNs are accountable for patient preparation prior to surgery. Responsibilities include: * Nursing patient assessment * Review medical history * EKGs * Medication reconciliation * Determination of anesthesia needs * Patient preparation for surgery * Individualized patient education: verbal and written * Initiate physician pre-operative orders; x-rays, blood tests, PT, cultures * Prepare and review patient pre-operative charts for completeness * Provide expectations for day of surgery Job Summary: This position is designed to manage incoming calls, requests for PST visits, day of surgery work-ups and phone interviews and complete a scheduled appointment. The employee screens all calls provided by a physician office or other resource unit collecting the clinical information required to schedule the appropriate type and time of appointment. This position is critical for all customer needs and future interaction between patients, physician offices and resources within the corporation. The employee will also collect and enter required statistics for monitoring and data collection. Minimum Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED * Must have Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association * Associates degree preferred but not required * Previous secretarial experience or OR experience preferred but not required We're looking for someone who: * Admits mistakes and shortcomings * Communicates Effectively * Takes Initiative * Empathetic * Promotes Teamwork * Adapts to Change Essential Tasks and Responsibilities: * Screens all calls and accurately schedules PST appointments. * Collects patient medical history and scheduled procedural information and records accurately. * Obtains pertinent medical records for pre-operative charts. Sources may include physician offices, HIM, computerized documentation systems, diagnostic testing centers, etc. * Assists with preparation of PST charts for nursing staff. * Compiles statistics daily, weekly and monthly. * Functions as a superuser for FaxCert system. * Identifies, labels, and indexes all data received through FaxCert system. * Participates in training and orientation of new employees. * Complete all other duties as assigned.
