Job Summary

This position is part of the Health Education and Learning High School (HEAL) High School program and joint partnership between Memorial Hermann and Aldine ISD. The HEAL high school is a healthcare focused, career-technical education (CTE) high school comprised of targeted learning pathways such as nursing, rehabilitation (PT/OT), pharmacy, imaging, and non-clinical administration. The Memorial Hermann positions associated with this program will work directly with the high school students, Aldine ISD administrators, and Memorial Hermann staff/leaders to build upon the traditional high school and CTE learning with work-based learning, guest school-based lecturers, and simulation experiences to prepare students for promising healthcare careers.

Responsible for developing, providing and coordinating direct staff education, indirect patient education, orientation training and development of individual learning plans and monitoring of staff knowledge and quality. Working closely with physicians to ensure all protocols are current and magnet QA is at highest level.

Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associates Degree - Graduate of School of Radiologic Technology required

Licenses/Certifications:

• Registered in specialty modality (ARRT, ARDMS, NMTCB)

• Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required

• ARRT Certification

• BLS - American Heart Association

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• Five or more (5+) years' experience as a staff technologist in imaging including diagnostic radiology, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

• Community Outreach/Leadership experience preferred

• Imaging Educator/Instructor experience required

• Knowledge, skills and experience in designing and delivering job-related learning activities in a clinical setting

• Knowledge, skills and experience in process improvement strategies and service excellence

• Viewed as a "leader" in current specialty

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Identifies training opportunities and conducts in-depth needs assessment/analysis.

• Plans, develops, implements, coordinates and executes education programs and interacts with staff to ensure needs are met.

• Serves as resource person in areas(s) of expertise.

• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a mentor and resource to less experienced staff/students.
