POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Director of Radiology and the Lead Nuclear Medicine Technician, the Imaging Access Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, order entry and prior authorization functions for all imaging services for both inpatient and outpatient customers.# The Coordinator must be accurate and timely in the completion of all clerical duties necessary for patient access to imaging services.#Duties include:#but are not limited to, answering phones, scheduling appointments and order entry, performing data entry into various database systems and maintaining log sheets, insurance and demographic verification, obtaining prior-authorization from multiple insurance companies in conjunction with physician offices, reviewing orders and, as needed, clarifying data regarding the procedure(s) ordered and the symptom(s) or diagnosis in order to convey information to insurances for medical necessity of ordered test(s).# The Coordinator must be able to prioritize and respond to multiple demands simultaneously while maintaining a high level of professionalism and excellent customer service skill.
