Functions:

Provide administrative and analytical support to the Program Management Office. Provide critical data support to both the ESG Program Management team and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) teams, which are geographically located throughout the United States and abroad. Research and analysis functions may include program tracking and forecasting, project evaluation and monitoring, maintaining compliance with government regulations, and performing any data analysis relevant to project tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

  • Responsible for supporting all ILS contract deliverables.

  • Reporting and Corrective Action Reports, Design Change Notices, Engineering Data for Provisioning, Ship, or cutter information Book (SIB/CIB), Damage Control Technical Data and Commercial Equipment Manuals, Drawings, and other technical data.

  • Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

  • Provide reports to ILS Management and OPC Program Management for the status of technical specifications for OPC Allocated Baseline purchases.

  • Review for technical compliance each technical spec developed by engineering for incorporation into purchasing RFQ. Review against Bill of Material (BOM), drawings, and DOORS requirements traceability.

  • Assist in drafting materials for USCG reviews.

  • Work on a collaborative Integrated Data Environment (IDE) and manage the configuration of the ship's baseline.

  • Create detailed schedules and tracking matrices to support purchasing, logistic and construction ordering milestones.

  • Provide detailed plans of action and deficiency reports for contract deliverable reviews to support the project objectives and schedules.

  • Work with Design Leads to ensure action items and USCG deliverables are being identified, assigned, worked, and resolved in accordance with Contract requirements.

  • Perform other duties as instructed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Reporting Relationship

This position will report to the ILS supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • 2 or more years providing technical support in a Manufacturing or Engineering environment to include compartmental load out or ship outfitting, under a USN or USCG contract. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Skills:

  • Proficient level Microsoft Suite experience including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, Company policies/procedures, and governmental regulations.

  • Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports.

  • Requires excellent written, oral, and presentation/ communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a highly technical and fast-paced detailed design and construction program environment.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the environment is low to moderate, such as in an office environment.

Physical Activity/Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This job will operate in multiple environments, including a professional office environment, and Shipboard during the production, outfit, test, and delivery phases of each Ship. Employees must be able to work in a ship production environment, including climbing, entering tanks and voids, etc., in all weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
