Create a curriculum that focuses on the Social Emotional Learning of youth aged 8 to 18 in our community as well as develops a mentoring program for same youth. With the challenges we are seeing in mental health in our youth and in our adult population, SEL is key to development and growth with our youth. By implementing a program that focuses on SEL through mentorship our hope is to help youth excel through high school and help them make connections to develop them further Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.
Member Duties : Understand the dynamics and needs of the youth in the community and within facility. Create a Social emotional learning program that can last up to a year, but can be adapted for youth in the following years.
Develop an organizational and mentorship system for program for youth ages 8 to 18 as well as training tools for YMCA staff. Obtain financial resources for SEL programming and supplies; establish current and future funding opportunities by researching and applying for possible grants and funding opportunities. Building partnership within the community to connect the youth with outside organization; and build relationships with partners to connect youth to assist with post high school jobs. Evaluate and improve the established programming by evaluating the effectiveness and age appropriateness.
