We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Application Architect.

Objective: Highest level technical position in the Analytics Solutions Group (ASG) responsible for architecting IIOT solutions for client problems by utilizing multiple commercial off the shelf applications and integration of same utilizing custom development when required while demonstrating the essential competencies core to Rockwell Automation and MAVERICK Technologies.


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Approximately 4 to 8 years of experience in software project delivery in manufacturing environments

  • Experience with VMWare environments, Networking, operating systems, and the design and configuration of Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk Analytics, ProductionCentre Application Suites (CPG Suite or PharmaSuite), PTC ThingWorx, Vuforia & Kepware.

  • Experience with Software design methodologies.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates a detailed knowledge and experience of software design techniques and principles along with ability to accurately estimate effort required to deliver software to meet design specifications

  • Demonstrates a high level of knowledge of software development methodology and utilizes best practices and standards including following Rockwell Automation iPM (Project Management Model).

  • Demonstrates industry leadership by development of white papers, presentations at conferences or speaking engagements in their particular technical expertise.

  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of data modeling and database design.

  • Demonstrates expertise with design and development on a Microsoft platform.

  • Performs and or directs the technical work scope for projects and provides accurate status reporting of same to project management.

  • Responsible for mentoring and development of technical skills of less experienced resources and to provide regular performance feedback to both employees and management.

  • Demonstrates experience with Java Development, relational database management systems, SQL, database design & administration, Microsoft Server environments.

The insurance team is responsible for the development of various consumer facing self-serve applications that allow our AAA members to obtain information and complete various transactions online. Responsibilities * Design, develop, and execute software solutions to address business issues. * Provide architectural blueprints and technical leadership to our engineering teams. * Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality product platform. * Collaborate with various business units, quality assurance and end users to produce cutting-edge software solutions. * Interpret business requirements into technical direction and documentation. * Review, analyze and resolve application issues as needed. * Evaluates strategies and makes recommendations on changes and improvements. * Collaborate with team members on the design and implementation of new functionalities on the different platforms. * Consult with other team members and implements solutions in-line with the departments' visions. * Continuously learn and keep up to date with emerging technologies to evaluate impact to business and member value. * Participate and provide feedback during planning meetings (i.e., pre-iteration, iteration, and retrospectives). * Perform code reviews and mentorship to junior engineers. * 7 years of professional development experience in the design, development, and execution of enterprise software solutions. * Experience in one or more programming languages (Java, C, C , C#, Node). * Demonstrated experience in one or more modern JS framework (e.g. React or Angular) * Experience in one or more queuing framework is preferred. * Scripting Languages – Ruby, PowerShell, Linux/Unix Shell scripts, and/or Perl etc. * Database experience in one of the following: MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, Mongo, Cassandra * Experience in hybrid On-prem and Cloud computing implementation and integration. * Knowledge on how to implement and manage APIs (Web Services) versioning. * Experience in implementing OAuth/OpenID, TLS/SSL, and certificates. * Experience in TDD/ BDD. * Experience working in Agile/ Waterfall methodologies. * Solid experience in implementing high performance, high availability, reliable, and secured software, and know how to scale a system horizontally. * Four year college degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
