Basic Function
LyondellBasell is searching for a IEA Discipline Engineer at the Bayport Complex, located 25 miles from Downtown Houston, TX. The Bayport Complex consists of three units that manufacture polypropylene, propylene oxide, and ethylene oxide. The IEA Discipline Engineer is part of the Bayport Capital Projects Group supporting engineering, design, and installation of A,E,&I scope for site capital projects. The position interacts with other disciplines and technical groups on site (process engineering and reliability groups), corporate technical networks and peers, and vendors/suppliers as needed to successfully design, implement and startup new equipment installations. The position is responsible for the planning, control, and integration of engineering activities and the development of technical deliverables to meet the schedule, scope, budget and quality requirements of multi-discipline projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
Provides project discipline engineering support on project teams towards the successful completion of projects as assigned so that they are successfully completed and meet the objectives.
Works with design resources both internally and externally to achieve designs that are cost effective and technically sound so that all projects are designed efficiently, cost effectively, and have operability against the up-front project objectives.
Collaborates and engages all other disciplines towards the successful completion of the project.
Responsible for following the Capital project process and meeting the DOA so that all projects can meet internal and external audit criteria and the Bayport site remains in DOA compliance. Working through the Capital Project Checklist and documenting all phases of the project process
Works closely with subcontract engineers and/or designers to coordinate their activities and to ensure the subcontractor's work is checked and meets the companys standards and quality requirements.
Prepares specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
Performs periodic design reviews; ensures designs follow specifications, codes, regulations, and contract requirements. Ensures technical and quality standards are maintained.
Documents and maintains all communication that impacts technical decisions.
Assists in preparing estimates of probable costs for construction at various stages of design.
Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment, technical material suppliers, and technical service providers.
Inspects completed installations and observes operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

Min. Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Instrument Engineering
8 years or more of chemical, refining or related industry experience
Results Oriented, Communications, Rapport Building, Analytical, Presentation, Decision making, Technical Proficiency in Electrical Engineering
Excellent verbal, written, presentation skills with interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively as a team member, and to plan/coordinate processes for results

Basic Function The Process/Production Engineer will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize operating units to drive process and product improvements. During a typical day they will apply technical knowledge to detect causes of deviations in quality, capacity, yield, and energy consumption. The individual will identify, recommend and implement strategic projects to improve unit performance. A process/production engineer will also collaborate with unit specialists and other engineers to support process design and implementation of capital projects. Roles & Responsibilities Develop systems to improve and sustain value in the areas of health, safety, environment, production rates, reliability, cost and quality. Maintain strong safety and environmental compliance focus Troubleshoot and problem-solve advanced process problems Develop recommendations to improve unit performance Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators for plant performance Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize operating units Provide process design support for capital projects Contribute in a team environment and establish work relationships with onsite and offsite functional groups to achieve results Balance day-to-day operational priorities with long term strategic objectives to ensure alignment with company goals Coach less experienced engineers, as well as provide technical training to others Knowledgeable about OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management and participate and lead PHA’s, HAZOP analysis, MOC and PSSR Provide technical expertise in PSM activities (PHA, MOC, PSV calculations, Safety Critical Equipment/Variables, Incident Investigations, etc) Knowledgeable about Relief System, RV, design and evaluations.
