BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The I&E Operator aids with the installation, repair, and maintenance of SCADA equipment, electrical equipment, and controls associated with oil and gas production facilities. These include but not limited to: Pneumatic devices and controls, electrical devices, and controls, automotive valves, liquid level transmitters, pressure transmitters, measurement devices, etc. Establishes new SCADA equipment and electric services to all production sites. Develops and applies an understanding of instrumentation and electrical issues and equipment. Is capable of working without direct supervision.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 3 years of related industry experience in oilfield automation, electrical, instrumentation, and/or production operations
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoots and repair electrical, automation, and communication equipment
Determine requirements, specifications, and make recommendations for communication, electrical, and automation equipment
Assist with electric power installation on location
Configure Programmable Logic Controllers, HMIs and Remote Terminal Units
Assist field personnel on operation and maintenance of automation equipment
Develop scope of work to assess automation, electrical, and communication projects
Oversee automation, electrical, and communication contractors
Ensure all electrical regulatory codes, standards, and EHS protocols are met
Make or assist with repairs on SCADA, Electrical and Pneumatic equipment without direct supervision
Willing to be on 24-hour call
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Practice safe work habits always
Oil and gas industry experience is preferred
Familiarization with AC and DC distribution and control systems
PLC and HMI programing is preferred
Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes
Intermediate level computer skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to work within a team environment
State/province Journeyman license or equivalent is preferred
Work within accordance of all city, state/province, and national codes is preferred
Knowledge of radio communications systems, conventional, and spread spectrum is preferred
TCP/IP and Modbus networking is preferred
Creative individual, capable of analyzing and solving mechanical problems
Strong leadership, influencing and coaching skills
