Ride Operations team members are responsible for the safe and hospitable operation of all of the attractions at Idlewild and SoakZone. This position is responsible for learning, retaining, and enforcing all departmental safety requirements while creating a friendly and hospitable environment for all of our guests.

We are currently looking for a:
Idlewild- Ride Operator
Roles & Responsibilities:

Greet all guests with a friendly smile and positive attitude!
Smile and communicate with fellow team members
Provide excellent customer service by engaging guests in an inviting manner and answering questions related to the attraction and park
Successfully obtain IROC certification (trained and certified by the park)
Conduct morning inspections of assigned ride before daily operation begins
Responsible to check that each guest entering a ride has a wristband
Perform accurate height checks and uphold height requirements for all park rides and attractions
Direct guests to and from the ride area and assist in the loading and unloading of rides, which can include assisting guests in or out of rides as needed
Provide safety speeches to guests by using a microphone
Physically check all safety restraints to ensure they are in the correct and locked positions before ride cycle begins
Safely operate rides by always remaining vigilant and aware
Remain alert and quickly react to stop a ride properly in case of an emergency that occurs on a ride
Maintain a safe and clean working environment to ensure the safety of all guests and team members
Support our park through other duties as assigned by your manager
Education and Experience: No minimum educational requirements.
Languages: English
Basic Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age on the date of applying
Successfully obtain IROC certification
Must be able to speak and read the English language
Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift
Must work well with other team members and be able to interact with our guests in a fast-paced environment
Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Idlewild and SoakZone guidelines
Requirements:
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to work at least 1 weekend day (Saturday, Sunday) per week throughout the operating season
Must be able to work at least three (3) days per week and at least 24 hours per week from June through August (Shifts are available starting in May and continue through October.)
Working Conditions:
Team Members are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, humidity, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather.
Physical requirements include the ability to stand (for up to five hours at a time), walk long distances within the park, bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity; the ability to carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds without assistance on a regular basis; and the ability to regularly reach above shoulder level
