Identity Engineer

Splunk IT Operations is seeking an Identity Engineer. Are you ready to join us in supporting our explosive growth? As an Identity Engineer, working with the Sr. Manager of IT Operations based in San Francisco, you will be responsible for requirements gathering, design, implementation and support the Identity Services and infrastructure that control access to internal services at Splunk.

This position will focus on key technologies and services including but not limited to Active Directory, OKTA, ServiceNow, Internal ILM platform, and future CASB technologies. You should have strong background in system administration, familiar with IT Agile Operating model, and the ability to learn quickly.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Management of user identities across all identity platform

  • Develop automation workflows and integrations for repetitive or manual tasks

  • Perform analysis of security events and logs across multiple identity platforms

  • Work multi-functionally with many teams to build and handle RBAC to ensure a secure production environment

  • Partner with Sr. Identity Engineer to assesses available technologies to meet needs, define technical specifications, designs, and thorough evaluations

  • Be the resource for Identity Access Management, Identity Lifecycle Management, SSO/MFA, and Directory Services related tasks or projects

  • Active member of the Identity team on-call rotation

Job Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' experience with Active Directory, Group Policy Management, DNS, RADIUS and NPS

  • Experience with Single Sign On tools and technologies

  • Experience with security policies and procedures

  • Familiar with Kerberos/NTLM, LDAP, Google Identity Services, SAML, OAuth, and SCIM

  • Familiar with applications and tools like Workday, OKTA, and ServiceNow

  • Exposure to open standards development including XML, XSLT, SOAP, AJAX, Java/J2EE, and command line scripting

It is desirable for you to have:

  • Knowledge of administering Splunk

Who You'll Work With You will work with our innovative Identity and Access Management team as well as cross-functionally across IT and Product teams to explore what technologies have to offer today and expand beyond looking into using automation, analytics, and machine learning. Who You Are You have a passion to learn technologies, possess good critical thinking and analytical skills, and have the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment. You're cooperative, enjoy building relationships and can communicate clearly and effectively with the distributed team. At a minimum, we require: * BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related major such as Math, Physics. * 7+ years in IT industry successfully delivering in an enterprise environment. * Experience with Web Application Security platforms, Single Sign on, Authentication, Authorization, Federation Technologies, SAML, OAuth, OpenID, Pen Testing * Ability to work with the Web Application Security program team on various time-sensitive client facing projects * Review and implement client requirements for Cloud Service Provider work using various federation standards * Familiar with core network and virtualization concepts * Python and software development experience * Desire and ability to learn and use new technologies.
