As a Product Manager in Core Platform Engineering - API Marketplace, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
Job responsibilities
Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap
Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition
Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability
Acts as subject matter expert for the identity and access management sub-domain of the API Management Platform
Collaborates with engineering, architecture, design, and stakeholders to create a product roadmap that reflects the outcomes and key results set by the business
Work directly with design team to develop an experience that delights platform customers while balancing the security and control requirements of the firm
Builds relationships with other platform teams within the firm & identify opportunities for integrations/inner sourcing with the API Management Platform
Leads Build vs. Buy decisions with engineering partners
Serves as the "voice of the customer" to one or more product delivery teams
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
Advanced understanding of identity and access management concepts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: able to present facts, thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise and convincing manner to senior leaders, key stakeholders, employees and third-party vendors.
Results-oriented and self-motivated; self-starter with capability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously, with appropriate sense of urgency
Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions, take accountability for those decisions while candidly challenging the status quo to drive the right customer journey outcomes.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
Demonstrated prior experience in developing identity & access management capabilities for enterprise or SaaS products
Demonstrated prior experience in developing products that primarily serve software engineers
Demonstrates technical aptitude (Understanding API contracts, using APIs, troubleshooting software, using observability tools)
