Position Title IDEALS Project Coordinator Position Number 896707 School/Division School of Nursing Department Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies Full-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description

Reporting to the Sr. Assistant Dean of Operations and Strategy, theIDEALS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, Leadership, and Success) Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative support for a new program that increases diversity across the spectrum of the nursing profession by providing support and strategies to address barriers to success. This position will work collaboratively with the Hofstra University's Office of Equity & Inclusion. This is a full-time position and occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be expected as a part of the position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops peer and faculty mentorship.

  • Coordinates all organizational aspects to prepare students for the rigorous demands of the nursing program including, tutoring for individuals and groups, professional writing, public speaking workshops, and providing non-academic support.

  • Manages program scheduling to include program developments which foster Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, Leadership, and Success

  • Collaborates with the Data Analyst to maintain program databases.

  • Oversees the organization and management of program databases.

  • Conducts community outreach to recruit students for all aspects of pre-program academies.

  • Collaborates with the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer on IDEALS training programs.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • At least 2-4 years of related work experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage complex projects.

  • Extremely well-organized.

  • Capable of working well both independently and as part of a team dedicated to achieving excellence.

  • Experience working with external partners to create opportunities for students by developing. professional pipelines with community-based organizations, hospital systems, and academic institutions.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with staff, faculty, and students.

  • High degree of judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Demonstrate outstanding computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Experience with addressing health equity.

  • Professional experience with community outreach, grant management, data management, project management, program development and implementation, faculty/student development, oral presentation, evaluating and presenting program data, and mentoring a plus.

Salary/Salary Range $55,000-$58,500
