Job Description

Objective

Within our manufacturing business, the role of Production Operator is to safely produce quality products for use by our customers. This role may require cross training on various production machines. Our customers rely on Production Operators to produce high quality materials that meet their most demanding applications.

Essential Job Functions

• Operate hydraulic presses, blanking, slitting, or roll line machinery as required depending on departmental assignment

• Understand production logs and associated documentation as well as required material usage reporting

• Understand all functions of the machine, set-up, balancing, size changes and fine tuning of quality.

• Power up/down machine

• Correctly document or log out daily production at the end of shift

• Setup or change over the machine from a previous job to perform the requirements of a new job

• Minimize waste by adjusting machine

• Report any quality or machine issues immediately to supervisor

• Comply with lock out/tag out rules

• Safely palletize finished product, and clean work area, machines, and equipment using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds

• Correctly use PPE, Safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection or other as required

• Actively participate in periodic workplace safety learning sessions

• Perform daily general housekeeping activities to keep the work area clean and organized

• Complete all work efficiently and timely as instructed by supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing work environment preferred

• Prior forklift experience is preferred

• Proven track record of good attendance and being on time according to work schedule

• Basic mathematical and computer skills required.

Physical Requirements

The work is performed in non-climate-controlled environment with moderate noise level. This job frequently requires the employee to stand; walk; use hands.; balance; stoop; kneel; push; pull; reach overhead; read; talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.
