The Investment Operations Department (INO) is responsible for generating a portfolio of high quality, creditworthy, and environmentally and socially sound projects that result in significant developmental impact. The business cycle goes from the identification, selection, origination, structuring and execution of transactions to their monitoring. The Department follows a matrix model, with three segment divisions covering Infrastructure and Energy, Financial Institutions and Corporates, and two transversal divisions covering Financial Products and Services, and Portfolio Management. In addition, there are two teams responsible for: (i) Marketing & Business Communications, and (ii) Business Strategy, Planning and Resources.

About this position:

The Marketing & Business Communications team is responsible for managing several key initiatives to add value to the business, related to market understanding, client strategy, marketing products/content marketing & business communications, business metrics management, marketing campaigns and monitoring and exploiting tools that support our client acquisition and engagement efforts (CRM, Client Portal, Email Marketing, BI tools, etc.).

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing our 4 full B2B marketing pillars, Relationship marketing, Value Proposition marketing, Market Intelligence, and Content & Outreach marketing strategy.

What you'll do

You will work closely with two sales team:

  • Corporates: Agribusiness, Manufacturing, TMT and To

  • Infrastructure & Energy: Transport, Energy, Infrastructure, and Water and Sanitation.

  • With a strategic business vision, you will be the marketing connector with all these business sectors to identify their marketing needs, define and implement their yearly strategic Marketing Plan, develop and execute the client & mobilization partners strategy, and being their point of contact for Marketing & Business Communications efforts.

As part of this role, you will focus on the following activities:

Business understanding

  • Understanding the sectorial business topics and trends across the different agendas with a special focus in sustainability and digitalization.

  • Business monitoring through indicators for the specific Divisions supported.

Planning and reporting

  • Define and implement the Marketing Plan to support the business strategy to generate more business opportunities.

  • Keep an updated content and Marketing activities calendar for the specific Divisions supported.

  • Perform follow-up activities ensuring the content creation and activities calendar planned execution.

Relationship marketing

  • Buyer persona analysis.

  • Keeping updated and fed clients databases in our CRM, Salesforce.

  • Develop and execute all the business events (IDB Invest, IDB and third party).

  • Develop and maintain relevant Marketing/sales support tools for clients such as factsheets, pitchbooks, tombstones digital books, team Bios, etc.

  • Periodically update and improve materials that showcase business expertise and track record.

  • Actively seek to improve market appreciation and awareness through relevant awards recognizing IDB Invest operational capabilities.

Value proposition marketing

  • Through the analysis of our negotiation data in salesforce and market research, contribute to enhancing our value proposition.

Content & outreach marketing

  • Design and execute the annual content Marketing Plan.

  • Identify content and marketing campaigns to showcase remarkable initiatives for business sectors.

  • Standardize, centralize, and continuously update key messages.

  • Support the business and technical teams in developing specialized reports and knowledge to leverage business development activities.

  • Coordinate external agencies and freelancers to generate content and Marketing products.

  • Ensure alignment of available communication channels/platforms for IDB Invest with the Marketing Strategy for the specific Divisions supported, in coordination with the IDB Invest's Corporate Communications Team.

  • Manage and publish engaging content on LinkedIn aligned with our marketing strategy.

Market Intelligence

  • Provide support in the coordination and preparation of relevant campaigns with clients & partners in alignment with IDB Invest Client Strategy about our main themes and market trends.

  • Execute the different market intelligence campaigns and/or information requests in coordination with the segments.

Marketing & Communications Tools

  • Prepare monthly results report measuring our Marketing efforts to adjust the strategies using different tools such as Salesforce, Salesforce Pardot, Power BI, etc.

What you'll need

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, International Relations, Public Affairs, Business Administration, Political Science or another related field, and hold an MBA or another Master on related field.

  • Experience: At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in B2B marketing areas (client management strategy, relationship marketing, market intelligence, and/or content marketing). Experience in working with CRMs, specifically with Salesforce and its marketing tools is needed. Advanced PowerPoint and Excel Microsoft skills are needed. Specific knowledge and track record in topics related to any of our core thematic priorities (Infrastructure and Energy, Corporates, and Financial Products) is highly valuable for this position. Strong planning and coordination skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and various stakeholders. Familiarity with database management and generating useful reports from CRM systems, specifically Salesforce, for audience segmentation, campaign launches, and tracking.

  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are either a citizen, a resident or hold a legal permit to work in COF need it without the need for sponsorship by the IDB Invest.

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
