Job Description

You will be leading Law Enforcement firearms qualifications for those who qualify to carry a weapon under LEOSA (HR 218). You will be Legal Heats local ambassador to Law Enforcement agencies in the region while projecting a positive image for Legal Heat.

Job Responsibilities

Engage and instruct students in a safe and entertaining manner
Maintain law enforcement relationships in a positive manner
Present sponsored products in a positive and informative manner
Maintain a safe range environment (if required)
Travel to other locations within the region, occasionally overnight or on weekends

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current POST certified firearms instructor
State and region-specific gun and training licenses and certifications required
NRA Basic Pistol or NRA Law Enforcement Pistol Instructor Certification
One year or more of firearms safety and handling instruction experience required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
21 years of age or older required
Willing to travel within the region for training required
Must have engaging public speaking skills required
Must be able to control a classroom environment safely required
Must have, or be willing to obtain, firearms instructor insurance with at least $1MM per incident / $2MM in aggregate coverage required
Skills in advanced firearms and tactical training, tactical medical and/or non-lethal defense instruction preferred

VIEW JOBS Job Summary The Director of Video Interpreting oversees the expansion of the Sorenson Community interpreting video interpreting service nationwide. The Director will focus on recruiting the necessary talent base, training, maintaining quality control, and caring for all supervisory functions. They will assist in developing and implementing infrastructure, processes, and protocol required to provide on-demand and scheduled interpreting services over video. Director will assist sales team as a content expert and may occasionally be involved in customer-focused campaigns. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Assist in departmental budget setting and operationalize approved annual budget. * Conduct regular strategic planning for department and communicate risks and opportunities to leadership team. * Create and maintain efficient departmental structure to oversee provision of interpreting services 24/7/365. * Recruit and screen potential hearing and Deaf video interpreters. * Ensure adequate interpreter coverage for VRI appointments and on-demand queue staffing in conjunction with scheduling department. * Ensure new hires are trained on company policy and protocol. * Perform ongoing assessments of interpreting and customer service skills employees. * Manage employee relations and maintain positive employee morale. * Support the safe provision of interpreting assignments at home and in call centers. * Provide customer feedback to interpreters and resolve any areas of complaint. When needed, interface with customers to discuss concerns and update on problem resolution. * Perform annual performance reviews of employees. * Provide direct services, team interpret, and conduct call observations. * Work with sales team and account management to help win and maintain accounts. * Provide regular reporting to supervisors and associated departments as required. * Assist in establishing systems, policies, and protocols to govern the provision of video interpreting services system-wide. * Maintain competence regarding Sorenson VRS software, FCC regulations, policies and procedures of the company. * Interpret and/or team interpret in the VRS call center as required. * Complete other ad hoc duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position manages employees and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees. Travel Requirements Travel Requirements: Less than 25% Education Certification : RID and/or NAD interpreting certification preferred Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree management, interpreting, ASL or linguistics Experience Minimum Years of Experience : 10 years sign language interpreter in a variety of settings preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Demonstrated understanding of key business metrics and the ability to meet established business goals * Fluency in American Sign Language * Solid understanding of windows-based computing systems with the ability to provide first-line troubleshooting assistance to interpreters * Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct * Knowledge of video interpreting industry including legal regulations * Maintains positive working relationships with local Deaf and interpreting organizations * Ability to follow directions and orders in all assignments given, keeping focus on priorities while progressing all tasks to completion * Working knowledge of basic computer functions, including experience working with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word * Ability to work in a dispersed team environment * Excellent communication skills, including written English * Ability to present to small and large groups effectively * Trustworthy with proprietary company information, keeping such information in strict confidence * Experience in management of large teams, preferably dispersed and remotely managed * Experience mentoring professionals in interpreting and/or ASL skills preferred * Member in good standing of a professional interpreter organization preferred Working Conditions and Physical Requirements * Able to sit/ stand for a long period of time in an office environment * Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components * Must be able to travel, including having reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. * Regular and predictable attendance required. * Positive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills and able to work across company departments Disclaimer This position has access to highly confidential, sensitive information relating to the employees, customers, and technologies of Sorenson Communications and CaptionCall.
