POSITION: Career and Technical Ed (CTE) - Bilingual Family and
Consumer Science Teacher - 1.0 FTE

SCHEDULE: 2024 - 2025 School Year
SALARY: Based on the 2024 - 2025 Teacher Salary Schedule

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)
Washington State Career & Technical Education Certification in the subject area (or ability to attain); 6,000 hours of documented work experience
Willingness to complete Washington State Applied Math Council Applied Math Certification
Willingness to recruit & facilitate an active Program Advisory Committee
Ability to participate in required training
Bilingual positions require Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish/English
Willingness to participate in interdisciplinary planning, curriculum design, and evaluation
Willingness to work with an instructional coach
Valid First Aid/CPR card or ability to obtain one
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position)

Demonstrated ability to teach all students.
Ability to maintain program equipment, lab area, and facilities.
Successful experience working with advisory committees; attending meetings and participating in committee activities and events.
Demonstrated success supervising the student leadership organization.

Knowledgeable and willing to integrate appropriate technology into the instructional
process.
Willingness to work with the business community to support student learning in the workplace; set up shadow and internship opportunities.
Knowledge of and ability to design curriculum to meet adopted State standards and
competencies, district benchmarks, and the Washington State essential academic learning
requirements and grade level expectations.
Job Description: The successful candidate will be expected to:
Provide an effective program of instruction in Family and Consumer Science meeting district and state-approved program standards (frameworks).
Develop, implement, and supervise the FCCLA Student Leadership Organization following the state-approved guidelines for an approved CTSO (after school, nights, and weekends).
Be actively involved in advisory committee activities; attend all meetings and activities (after school, evenings).
Organize and maintain a safe lab environment while teaching and promoting safety.
Maintain a positive attitude and productive learning environment.
Review program needs and participate in the selection of equipment, instructional resources, and materials.
Develop and implement a continuous improvement plan in alignment with state CTE
standards.
Develop and monitor program budget; manage and submit purchases for the program.
Integrate technology into the instructional process; stay up-to-date with technology
related to the program area.
Become involved with business and community partnerships; participate in internships and other industry-related educational and training opportunities.
Be a "team" player by establishing and maintaining cooperative professional relationships
with others.
