ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Present academic instructional programs designed by classroom teachers and specialist to students.
Instruct students individually and in small groups.
Implement classroom, small group and individual social and behavioral management interventions/systems.
Assist teachers and specialists in the testing and assessment of student skills.
Record and maintain accurate developmental data on student performance.
Manage information appropriately and handle personal student information confidentially.
Maintain positive communication with school personnel, community agencies, and parents/guardians under the direction of teachers and specialists.
Assist teachers to maintain an orderly and attractive instructional area (i.e., prevent litter, put up bulletin board displays, clean blackboards, store supplies, set up study areas, etc.).
Prepare instructional materials for teachers.
Perform routine clerical work such as typing, photocopying, filing, record-keeping, and answering telephones.
Responsible for assigned building and classroom supervision such as field trips, playground, lunch, hall, crossing guard and bus duty to include on-bus supervision.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Operate audio-visual, computer, and other equipment.
Attend and participate in staff meetings and student-related meetings, as requested.
Excellent instructional skills in Math and Reading.
Familiarity with Google Documents, Gmail and Google Sheets.
Ability to work successfully in a team setting.
Ability to problem solve and make decisions independently and appropriately.
Ability to process and learn information quickly.
Ability to complete assigned tasks independently.
Ability to communicate clearly and correctly in speech and in writing.
Pro Act training preferred.
Training and Experience Required:
Experience working with students in an educational setting. Minimum of an Associates Degree or two years of higher education. First Aid certification and Bloodborne Pathogens training required (can be accomplished after selection). Training for Reading Programs will be provided.
The person selected for this position must be able to provide: proof of college education, verify identity and employment authorization, complete a pre-employment record check and be approved by the State Department of Education after having a Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Verification made. The selected candidate will pay $10-$20 for a set of fingerprints and $59.00 for the verification check.
