TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in New York City, New York, 10025 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: ICU Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM, Every Other Weekend, 3x12, Flexible Scheduling Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience, 2 years of critical care/tele experience License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: NYS RN License, EPIC experience highly preferred Job Description:

  • Provide safe, competent quality care to a designated group of patients and significant others based on nursing theory and research.

  • Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship-Centered Care through the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards.

  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in care management.

  • Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

  • Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care, delegating to others as appropriate.

  • Educate patients and caregivers, anticipating needs and readiness to learn about their care plan, transition, health promotion, and disease prevention.

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Care Team.

  • Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate effective allocation of resources.

  • Operate as a role model in the practice of Relationship-Centered Care through key practices such as Bedside Shift Report, Purposeful Hourly Rounding, and Medication Review.

  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and their families.

  • Employ evidence-based practices for patient perception of care understanding.

  • Initiate service recovery as needed and escalate concerns appropriately.

  • Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening through professional interactions.

  • Conduct Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) addressing the 4 Ps.

  • Practice safe, efficient patient-centered care while identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.

  • Demonstrate clinical skills crucial to quality and safety in the patient population served.

  • Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional and evidence-based standards.

  • Engage in peer and institutional review processes to enhance quality and safety measures.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create quality improvement projects and nursing research.

  • Contribute to quality and safety practices and compliance measures.

  • Identify and avoid high-risk behaviors to maintain a safe environment for patients.

  • Utilize institutional technology to document nursing practice supporting quality and performance improvement initiatives. Operations:

  • Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.

  • Coordinate with the nursing management team to ensure appropriate supply utilization and inventory sufficiency.

  • Escalate material or staffing deficits as necessary.

  • Document in an accurate and thorough manner complying with hospital, regulatory, and legal standards.

  • Facilitate patient throughput on a shift basis. Professional Development: - Support clinical colleagues, patients, and their families in the care environment.

  • Advance clinical competence in nursing practice.
