GENERAL PURPOSE

Providing customer service to patrons at the Central Athletic Center Ice Skating area by completing all tasks involved with opening/closing, monitoring the ice skating area.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Minimum of sixteen years old. Customer service and ability to skate preferred. CPR/First Aid certification is required (training provided).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrates and provides good customer service.

  • Communicates well with supervisor and co-workers.

  • Monitors ice skaters.

  • Provides basic custodial duties (shovel snow).

  • Enforces rules and regulations appropriate to the Skating Rink area.

  • Assists with all opening and closing procedures and completes associated paperwork.

  • Reports regularly to Director of Recreation.

  • Follows, administers and implements Wheaton Park District policies and guidelines

  • Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.

  • Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.

  • Organize, live, demonstrate, and implement the Character Counts program for coaches and parents.

  • Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC.

Must have and maintain: CPR/AED certified or obtain within one (1) year of employment. Be a "Mandated Reporter" for the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: stand for extended periods of time. This position must also be able to occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 30 pounds. This position will also frequently be required to shovel snow.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: be exposed to cold weather conditions for extended periods of time.

APPROXIMATE HOURS

Friday: 4:30-9:30pm

Saturday: 11:00am-9:30pm

Sunday: 11:00am-6:00pm

Various holiday/non-school day hours

SALARY

$9.00 -$11.00 per hour
