Job Description:

IBM seeks to hire a IBM Bigfix Accelerated Value Specialist for the worldwide Accelerated Value Program (AVP). AVP offers its software customers the highest level of service and support for their Software Group (SWG) software by building close relationships and a demonstrated understanding of a customer's IT environment, business drivers, and competitive needs.

  • The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to work with a group of peers, be capable of leading a driven team spread across multiple IBM and client sites. The candidate must also have customer satisfaction as their driving influence and have a technical support background. This position requires knowledge of the IBM Software Group and Security portfolio, support process and be able to become technically skilled specifically in the IBM Bigfix product.

  • The candidate must have proven written and verbal communication skills, make a positive impact on morale and climate, as well as demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and ownership.

  • Must be able to respond to our goals and customer needs with a sense of urgency and yet calmly defuse escalations. Complex project management, cross-organization negotiations, and multi-tasking are required on a daily basis.

  • Demonstrated skills in communication, taking initiative, negotiation, software technical background, critical situation management, client facing, business acumen, driving optimal results for clients and IBM are required.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop a conceptual understanding of client business objectives and drivers and how these might be best addressed by IBM Software and strategic solutions including social, mobile, analytics, and cloud

You will design&nbsp;solutions and support the IBM BigFix Endpoint Management System and its supporting components.You must be a US citizen or permanent US resident, as this is a government position requiring a Public Trust clearance.This position is located on-site in Washington, DC.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong><br /></p><ul><li>Perform complete overall patch/release management as well as ensure all packages are efficiently and transparently deployed.</li><li>Identify, manage, and monitor for vulnerabilities that may affect compliance requirements and change management procedures. </li><li>Develop, test and deploy fixlets and perform activities required to distribute application and patch packages, and deploy operating systems using BigFix to end user hardware. </li><li>Utilize BigFix systems-management software to manage large groups of computers running Windows, VMware ESX, Linux or UNIX. </li><li>Create and test OEM and custom fixlets and packages; administer the BigFix Web UI. </li><li>Develop, test and deploy BigFix Secure Configuration Baseline Checklists. </li><li>Ensure all hardware is within compliance of the common operating environment; when needed identify and report discrepancies. </li><li>Implement and upgrade BigFix modules and related processes. Develop, test and deploy automation and sequenced workflows/packages; to include Operating System Deployment and Bare Metal Imaging.</li><li>Develop and implement testing strategies and document results. </li><li>Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution for BigFix and general patching issues; including troubleshooting complex problems.</li><li>Participate as a BigFix Subject Matter Expert in technical and business discussions with customers, teammates, vendors, and /or upper level managers. </li><li>Provides information and data utilized for asset reporting. </li><li>Update Process and Procedure documentation for Site Support and Service Desk. Develop, implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to support BigFix managed applications and agents.</li><li>Develop and maintain small software tools and custom scripts; using PowerShell, Visual Basic, and Wise, to automate repetitive tasks and improve user access.<br /></li></ul><p><strong>Required Skills and Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>At least 5 years of experience using IBM BigFix and other tools for software distribution and reporting; this includes creating custom fixlets in BigFix and deploying OEM and custom fixlets.</li><li>Ability to work independently and effectively with IBM BigFix Lifecycle endpoint management tools in a complex multi-platform environment.</li><li>Experience implementing, configuring, and upgrading BigFix modules and setting up related processes for using the tool across platforms in an enterprise capacity for servers and workstations.</li><li>Experience as a BigFix engineer in an enterprise environment (e.g. 3000 users). </li><li>Experience with BigFix Compliance and Inventory.</li><li>Experience upgrading and migrating Windows; Laptop/Desktop/Server Imaging experience.</li><li>Experience with Configuration Management of operating system and applications of popular security benchmarks published by DoD STIG, USGCB, and FDCC.</li><li>Experience using scripting languages, to automate tasks and manipulate data.
