RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Cross Markets Group (CMG) is the newest business unit within Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking Division and key growth initiatives at the Firm. The CMG team is focused on expanding our coverage of corporate clients and sponsor portfolio companies as well as middle market financial sponsors. We will cover clients across all industries and provide M&A, financing and other corporate finance solutions utilizing dedicated resources from within the Cross Markets Group team of investment bankers.

The Natural Resources Group is a global team with bankers around the world.

The group has a significant presence with offices in New York, Houston, Toronto, Calgary, London, Hong Kong and Buenos Aires, among others. The group covers Metals & Mining, Chemicals, Power & Utilities, and Energy (including traditional O&G, Energy Technology and Renewable Energy).

The associates at Goldman Sachs gain exposure to the firm's businesses and expanded knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications, marketing and sales skills. Associates develop financial models, perform customized company valuation analyses, and are actively involved in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and fixed income and equity issuances.

Associates organize and prepare presentations, which explain industry trends, assess clients' situations to provide the necessary financial advice, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. Additionally, associates coordinate teams of tax advisors, attorneys, and bankers for various transactions; lead due diligence processes and actively participate in the negotiations of legal documentation. From maintaining client communication to helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions, our associates are a vital part of Goldman Sachs' banking teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3.5 years' investment banking experience or post-MBA investment banking experience

  • Current investment banking experience, including knowledge of debt & equity financing and M&A; expertise in related modeling and valuation techniques

  • History of outstanding academic and professional achievement

  • Upstream, midstream, Oilfield Services or Energy Technology investment banking and transaction experience preferred

Sales Associate Responsible for supporting Treasury Sales Managers (TSM) with sales and relationship management related activities. Specific Responsibilities Include: Sales assistance: * Understanding of Natural Resources industry and segment strategy in high complexity and high-touch client sectors with evolving and expanding global business models.
