SUMMARY

As the Hypersonics Program Manager, you will leverage your singular creative, programmatic and technical expertise to augment commercially available options to meet the Hypersonic communities testing needs and create novel capabilities leveraging Fireflys technology. You will be responsible for developing payload stacks to support the various test configurations and drive vehicle upgrades exceed customer requirements. This role will work closely with the engineering, production and test teams, while heavily supporting the business development efforts and interfaces with the govt customer. You will be responsible for ramping up production on key parts to meet the growing customer demand. As the focal point for the mission planning, payloads and launch vehicles, you will enable the team by bringing together a cohesive approach to program schedule, technical development, clear budgeting, and market strategy. The ideal candidate will revel in the creative space this role provides as they define the future of hypersonic testing at Firefly and creating reusable vehicle designs to drive down the cost of hypersonic testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the program integrated master schedule and costs on each mission and hypersonic test family

  • Develop back of the envelop mission designs to meet customer needs, including simple GNC calculations and payload napkin-sketch CAD

  • Manage the high-level performance and unit cost requirements for proper market capture.

  • Manage the Chief Engineer and their integrated product teams to deliver any required vehicle modifications, including technical development of core matrixed engineering teams.

  • Help drive the overall vehicle architecture and maintain the baseline through multiple flight demonstrations.

  • Manage the vehicle cost model, vehicle master CAD, mass model, performance model, interface documents.

  • Manage program risks (ID, mitigate, track) for each mission

  • Serve as primary point of contact for MDA, MACH-TB/Navy and other hypersonic payload customers in a classified and unclassified format, and represent Firefly at conferences, reviews, and investor meetings.

  • Assist Business development or long lead acquisitions in negotiating contracts and statements of work

  • Partner with systems engineering to certify the payloads against any government requirements

  • Partner with the Licensing team and Chief Engineer to tailor necessary range documents per vehicle configuration and customer

  • Establish partnerships with key international partners to fully capture the hypersonic testing market

Required

  • BS in Aerospace Engineering or related engineering discipline.

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in launch vehicles, missiles or other complex aerospace programs.

  • Ability to effectively work in a multi-discipline team and provide leadership, guidance, and insight

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to track and improve program performance metrics.

  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

Desired

  • MS in Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Management.

  • Familiarity with requirements tracking, Atlassian Confluence and Jira, and Siemens NX and Teamcenter.

  • Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001

  • Active security clearance.
